This is a must view for Mariners fans if you haven't seen it yet !

The man, with Fenty as his accomplice, come across as people with no idea of how to run a club !!

When you realise how much we have moved on in back room expertise and fiscal economy, you will realise how close we came to total extinction !

Watched a bit of this whilst curling out a great big shít earlier, which felt quite apt. Jarring AI narration aside, it’s a reasonably accurate account of what went down under Holloway, including one or two bits that I’d forgotten (like Bilel Moshni training alone in front of the pier).

It’s mad, looking back, that Holloway wasn’t even here a year. I suppose it’s a period that, for non-footballing reasons, went by so slowly for most of us, but to pack such a level of calamity and deceit into a 12-month period is quite some undertaking.

He’ll never work in football again. Fúcking charlatan.

Whilst I definitely agree with the second sentence, I suspect and fear that someone will always be willing to take a chance/get sucked in by his cult of personality and appoint him.

I'm going to assume your use of cult was a typo

I’m not so sure. I think that within football they all know exactly what happened annd what sort of character he is. They also know how he was going to invest but never did. Plus he broke Covid laws and signed terrible and often totally unknown and untried players. Put that along with the fact that tactically he was inept at Div 2 level, who talked himself up but never delivered. Also the final nail in the coffin was the fact that he was going to be our manager until the fans wanted him out and then within a few days he walked out on us. I think his days in management are behind him. Let’s hope so.

It’s approaching 4 years since he did a runner from here - that’s by far his longest stint out of the game since he took over as Bristol Rovers player-manager in 1996. He’s “only” 61, so perhaps not quite as old as I had thought, but I think the harm he did to his reputation in his short time here will prove to be irreparable.

Yes, he has some success on his CV, but he’s proven on more than one occasion that he is a man who can’t be trusted on any plain. For someone who spoke quite openly about matters of morality and his own good character, he’s one hell of a treacherous bástard. The man doth protest to much methinks; he’s a fúcking snake and he knows it.

Of all the thoroughly dislikable characters that have sullied this club in the 30+ years I’ve been following, and there have been many, he’s right up there with the very worst of ‘em. Right up there. Possibly even top dog.

The fact that he is regarded with similar disdain by fans of several of the clubs he’s managed tells its own story.

Whilst I agree with much of what you've said, if you're looking for morality, loyalty and good character, football is probably not the best place to look. It's often obscured by success. There is a big "what if" regarding Covid, and we were flying. Had we been moderately successful, I doubt he and the regime would've been found out. God forbid what would've happened to the club eventually though...
