They said her injuries were equivalent to a high speed crash. How does anyone do that to a child? What's crazier is that he managed to keep playing and managing clubs while the investigation continued and apparently managed a game a day before his conviction.

Either he's super arrogant or he actually thought he was getting away with this and carrying on as normal. The non league clubs he worked with while under investigation for the crime and on bail claim to have done checks and nothing came up but I'd imagine they don't bother with anything of the sort. It's worrying a person like that was allowed around kids even after the fact.

The worst thing about this, is that it happened in 2020 and he worked at many clubs after the incident including one with a very young audience. Passed all his DBS checks etc... shows how diligent these checks are and that you truly can never know someone. Government should hang there heads in shame and I hope he gets what's coming to him.

Our legal system is built around the principle of innocent until proven guilty, so it's really hard for checks to highlight these issues before a conviction because it then starts to be a case of guilty until proven innocent, and people could be prevented from doing things due to malicious allegations which are later thrown out in court.

Kiernan Hughes-Mason has been proven by the courts to be a disgusting and vile human being, and I understand the concern around what he's been able to do the last 4 years. Hopefully he's now going to be locked up for a long, long time.
