I must say, David Artell seems to be building a very good team, at least on paper. In fact, he appears to be better at this than Paul Hurst was. Last season, after some heavy losses, I started to lose faith in D.A., even though I was initially willing to give him enough time. But after a strong finish to last season and what now seems to be a stronger squad than we've had in a long time, I'm ready to give D.A. a fresh start. He and the team will begin the season with my confidence that this could turn out well. I'm looking forward to Saturday!

Well said, think a lot can agree with this and I’m certainly one.

I am not expecting too much in the opening few games as this team hardly know one another. I expect Fleetwood will be in our faces and it will be a hard game. I am hopeful that after seven or eight games we will be okay but I think we may need to be patient. Utm

I have a theory about DA's interviews. Nothing to back it up beyond my gut feeling and watching him:
We are having to adjust to his style because we're so used to other styles (Like Hurst's). I think Hurst was super careful what he said and had thought about his answers, or what he was going to say, before an interview started. It's pretty much the product of media training.
DA seems more off the cuff, you can see him thinking about the question/answer in front of the camera. He sometimes seems to ramble a bit because he is searching for the right way to say something, he often slightly corrects or adjusts what he says mid sentence.
He also pushes the interviewer to be more precise with his questions - in the latest video he's asked a fairly poor question and asks 'in what way?'
He seems more relaxed in interviews than Hurst and more open. I'm sure he has had similar media training to Hurst but is just more comfortable with the media. I also recall reading/hearing that Hurst viewed interviews as a battle with the interviewer (JT may have said it) but Artell clearly doesn't see it like that, more an opportunity to inform and explain. He also tries to be funny but he's not very good at that.
We got very used to reading between the lines with Hurst but I think there's just less being said by Artell between the lines, he's more up front with what he's telling us. He just has to be cagey with things like transfers and other areas where blurting something out would cause problems.
He's an interesting character.

Artell is probably a bit more of a people person than Hurst, who seems somewhat introverted. Artell is very vocal on the touchline when he doesn't like something and in encouraging players where Hurst was often quite rigid and waited for the right moments to say something or left it for half time. He comes off more friendly and accommodating than Hurst when it comes to doing interviews, I really don't think Hurst likes them at all and probably sees it as a waste of time. Hurst was also always a very cautious manager both on and off the pitch so he'd frustrate interviewers who found every question was met with a stone wall of not saying much of anything.

Hurst is also vastly more experienced than Artell and has likely been asked every imaginable football question there is dozens and dozens of times over. Its bound to get very boring at some point. You could pretty much predict Hursts answer for a lot of what he was asked, I don't even blame the interviewer a lot of the time, as they kind of have to ask certain things even when they know the answer.

1 thing i would say about Hurst is that he is superb at analysing n summarising matches. So many times me n mates are amazed at how dispassionate n analytical he could be in post match interviews when looking back at the game. He would be great as a media pundit, especially for the radio
