Home games against Donny and Colchester on 5th October and 23rd November respectively moved forward to 12:30pm for Sky broadcast, whilst our game away at Bradford on 4th Jan has been brought forward to 1pm on account of our rampaging mob of violent, drug-addled fans. Two less matches I can't get to. Travelling from Surrey and I normally leave just before 7.00
I don't fancy getting up at 5.00 in the morning and missing my fish and chips before the match.

Not even Town and Colchester fans want to watch that fixture so why does the general public want to?

Just looking at the full list of EFL games moved for Sky broadcast up to and including the 4th Jan, it looks like the Notts game next month, plus these latest two, are the only 3pm Saturday kick-offs we will lose for TV-related reasons in our first 25 games, of which 19 were originally scheduled for a Saturday 3pm slot (plus 3 festive games that will still be at 3pm).
Not withstanding the fact that moving Notts County to a Thursday evening in is as ridiculous as it is unnecessary, that’s not too different to our National League days on BT (or Premier Sports TV before that).

Just seen on Twitter that the Tahgers first home Saturday 3pm game is the end of September. Utterly shite.

I'm on the West Coast of the US so these early kick offs are a real killer. 12:30 in the UK means 4:30am for me. Not a big fan of this new TV deal!

Not a fans game anymore 😔

| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |

Some people are going to stop going and watch on TV. Season tickets will prove not worth it financially. FOMO will work for a bit but once everyone twigs there will be seats should they need them then some will pass on season tickets. They will end up having to move the fans that are there into seating areas more visible on TV just to provide an atmosphere. The clubs are relying on their fan base just to lump it and turn up. Football without fans in the ground is terrible. We had it for a season with Covid. While we're never going to end up in that situation, the TV games are going to be dull in front of reduced crowds. TV could kill the game, because the fans are what makes it. Leagues 1 and 2 are not as bad yet, but I feel for the Championship clubs.

You pay your money, you take your choice. In the cold light of day, there weren’t many Town games that were worth a one off ticket purchase last season. You’re probably right, this needs sorting once there’s an independent regulator otherwise the game could be gone.

To quote " You took the words right out of my.mouth !" A steady drive up be at the " Peabung" 1130Hrs-ish then park up round the back of Starbucks a steady walk round to BP is my usual home game routine...!!! A case of having to, Friday will be an early night 2000Hrs for me, a sacrifice to watch Town live rather than the telly.

I suspect away matches will suffer with fans staying at home and watching on their PC's . Do travelling fans get much change from £100?

I'm impressed. Nothing beats being at Blundell Park for the game but it would be to much for me.
