Some real illuminating stories in there, if you thought Holloway was a fraud then this will confirm it. I liked Ira when he was with us if only for his positivity, he seemed genuinely buzzing to be here, shame it didn’t work out but the step up was probably a bit too much at that particular time.

As for the Hurst you can look at it various ways but my view is he was just being straight (something his predecessor hadn’t been) and had possibly spotted Ira would fall short, that’s football. Good guy though regardless of whether he was good enough for the EFL. Listening to the interview why 1878 needed to work hard to change the reputation of our club in terms of looking after players properly. I get it that a player has to be in shape to play but it sounds like Holloway just went about it on a whim rather than a scientific way.

Holloway is an absolute charlatan, the dictionary definition of a fraud - a liar. He led Ira down the garden path, for what appears to absolutely  no reason. Which is even more confusing when he comes across as such a good fella. It makes you wonder how many others he did this too. Hurst was cut throat, but at least he was honest. Sleep well Icey, Matty and Richard. Keep each other company up there xx 4 Relegations in 18 Years - John Fenty’s legacy.

The weight thing is quite disgusting just an awful way to treat someone.  That Holloway era was certainly bonkers. As for Hurst again it's not great to stand in a players way moving on when you've straight out told them they are not going to play, and when you look back on those dozen or so players he brought in they were hardly an improvement either.

I suspect your criticism of Hurst would apply to lots of managers every window.
