I can only imagine that the numbers will go down next season.  Last year we finished on a real high and people in general had more cash available.  This year has had its high points but hyper inflation and end of season mediocrity will surely impact?  I think we’ll be below 5k.  Below 4,000 would be a catastrophe.

I think it will still be quite high, I would say a lot of people didn't bother buying a season ticket due to John Fenty owning the club. A lot of people work outside Grimsby, and/or live outside Grimsby so have a decent income, I think this comes partly into the reasons we have an above average away following compared to other clubs.

A lot of people who live in Grimsby also have a decent income of course, and certainly decent enough to afford a season ticket.

The question is more whether they will willingly part with their money. A lot will depend on ambition with signing players.

It was a good sign that Hurst said today the clubs hierarchy recognise they will have to pay the modern day rate for the better players. Interestingly he also said he thought a lot of players were paid too much but even he, albeit grudgingly had accepted the need to pay the going rate for wages if we are to get a hearing.

I suppose that confirmed what a lot of us suspected- we miss out on a lot of players  even considering us because of the hitherto refusal to pay the going rate.

Burnley population around 73,000 yet around 10,000 minimum League 2 and around 20,000 in Premiership and 13 to 20,000 when doing well in the Championship.  North East Lincolnshire population has shrunk to around 157,000 so maybe a few thousand of uptapped potential fan base?

Might not reach the highs of this season but still think it will be decent.

Well thank you to those that took the time to offer their thoughts rather than just red cross through lack of basic human communication skills.  The respondents have given me multiple perspectives that I hadn’t considered, every days a learning day.  Oddly enough the majority have voted where my vote went.

Interesting that Lincoln have an early bird offer and to date have sold 4500 season tickets for next season and you do wonder given the continued high(ish) crowds at BP, despite the poor home form, and feel good factor if we shouldn’t have already had ours on sale.

Think early summer recruitment and signs we are buying to compete next season will dictate numbers .Obviously cost and how much prices go up .Think we also have to factor how depressing watching town at home has been this season .  Think the majority in the poll will be there or thereabouts but nowhere near this year's 5800

Haven’t they done this previously too?  A further discount for early takers must have a cashflow benefit, seems like a logical progression to me.

Its a difficult one to gauge

Who would have thought we might touch 6k season tickets at the start of last season ?

I think with how well the fans are engaged now we might be pleasantly suprised , and of course some regulars who pay on the day might be fed up with the relatively poor offering of seats available now on matchday .

I will be renewing ,even though i have only seen us win twice this season ,I enjoy a few beers ,the fanzone and the banter of our regulars + believe in what the lads are trying to do .

5k + i think

Including today we have 5 home games. If we win ay least 3 of these and some good summer signings then I think 5,000 should be achievable.

I think despite a lot of people saying 'I'm considering not renewing...' I think we'll hit similarish numbers.

A lot of the surge last summer was fuelled by FOMO as much as it was the feelgood factor from promotion.  This season hasn't hit the same heights and the feelgood factor is not even comparable to what it was 10 months ago.

I know of a few people who got season tickets because they were gutted at missing out on tickets to Notts County and Wrexham in the play-offs and wanted a better chance of getting future tickets.  In the main we didn't see situations where no-one could get tickets, with the exceptions in the cup games.  I think those few incidents might just be enough to keep hold of enough people who have that fear of missing out again.

The club will need to work at it though.  The last thing I want to see is a lazy sales pitch, especially if we're going to be increasing prices as most expect to happen.  It's an easy thing to say because it happened, but if you take the cup run out of this season and it's being a disappointing one, especially at home.  Coupled with a price increase and it becomes even less appealing.  The package needs to be the best it ever has been but we also need those marquee signings in and in early.  Get the ball rolling with quick and early sales which will create a snowball effect, then drawing in those who will be panicked into renewing/buying because that fear of missing out kicks in.

Absolutely. Scarcity is a powerful thing in sales and marketing. Anyone who has school age kids going mental for the faddy, influencer endorsed “Prime” drink in recent weeks will understand this concept all too well.

If we can achieve a top-half finish and make a couple of decent early signings, early season ticket sales will be strong and that will help the uncertain few come to the right decision.

I’m not worried at all. I think we’ll get close to, if not even bigger sales than last season. Just wait and see…

Think we'll be very close to this years total. The cost isn't huge and the lack of seat availability if you decide to go game by game will be a big deciding factor
Still think we missed an opportunity not selling them while the smell of fa cup success was fresh

Already behind the curve many clubs have had season tickets on sale for weeks now. Shortly after the cup run ended would have been the time to do it. Still struggling to see what all these back office additions are bringing to the party.
Look at Lincoln  website as an example how to do it already in 2nd Purchase window and various packages adding shirts and other etc to season tickets

I hope we sell precisely zero season tickets, just to cheer up the miserable cúnts and doom merchants amongst the fanbase. Nothing could possibly make them happier than a massive drop off in sales.

I live in London, can probably make 10-12 home games a season as a maximum, but I'm now likely to renew. It makes getting tickets for away days easier and guarantees what I consider "my" seat at home games. Yes, it's an expensive solution, but it's my club and I do daft things following them. Wouldn't have it any other way.

It has been a terrible league season at home, devoid of entertainment, goals and excitement……..but of course I will renew. As LH said there are a lot of mugs like us.

Prime has made one appearance in our house and will remain that way. We were upfront about this and has resulted in our 10 year old cherishing the bottle and using it for her night time drinks station. The 7 yo offspring uses it for football, pretty sure she tells everyone its a new bottle every week alluding to the idea we might be millionaires.

As for season tickets, I think we'll do well. In truth I can't see a scenario whereby we'll beat last season with our home form being the way it has but I still think the general outlook on how we are run as a club is significantly better than it has been and this keeps a certain level if interest and desire there. I do agree with the idea that a few good early signings will marry up with a view we're only 3 or 4 quality signings away from being more competitive and will lure those on the fence back onside. Plus, once we've had a few weeks off and miss the fix then people will be in that ticket office renewing!!

I've crunched the numbers and it's cost me £25 per game attended this season. With petrol, food and the occasional pint it probably costs me about £40 a game. I've got some big outgoings coming up soon and I just can't justify that next season sadly. Been trying to get a few people to commit to having my season ticket for a few games, to help me justify getting one, but so far proving fruitless. I imagine i'll still get to 6-8 games and I'll be sad to miss out on the away ticket priority but i've already sorta decided new grounds only for me from now on so that rules out all the potential local ones anyway. So I might actually be alright for the small handful of away games i'll attend next season

I think we'll have maybe just shy of 5k season ticket holders but our average attendance won't be affected

4000+ next year? After seeing us win 2 times this season at home as I was away for the other 2 I'd be amazed to see those numbers.
If it happens people need a phycological examination as watching town this season at home has been hard work.
Boring negative hurst-ball. First and last time I ever get a season ticket this year.

Good luck on that one ,personally  I hope numbers  stay the same for good of our club I / We follow /support / moan about !!! on here.
Me no chance of being a STH as i live to far away ,but tip my hat to those who do re new their ticket.
In my opinion thought Town had a good season to date having got out the National  League  and stabilised back in league 2 plus the FA Cup run too.
Roll on next season's  fixtures so i can analysis  the games i can get to.
Stevenage for me next if i can get a ticket ,

I hope some of those who bought one but don't go regularly don't bother this season.

They've blocked good seats, put off pay on the day fans (who pay more) and I believe its affected the atmosphere this season.

I'd rather there's 4000 sold who go to every game than 6000 with empty seats everywhere.

If you love the club and want to put money into it, fair enough but there should be something else instead of getting a seat that is then empty when the club needs someone there cheering the team on

I reckon we’ll sell around 4500

Last nights attendance is probably an indicator of who’s prepared to continue to turn up while we’re not pulling any trees up

So, the definition of a glory hunter?

I understand you have this weird thing about Hurst and the performances this year but having had a season ticket for nigh on 35 years, and having seen seasons much much worse than this (it’s not been a bad season, even if home form hasn’t been the best) then I don’t see why this season would put me off.

There’s plenty like me and with the increased risk of it being able to pick up away tickets without a season ticket, that alone will encourage some to pick one up…

I wonder if the club could do a system where those who want to buy a season ticket but don't attend regularly can do so and then can allocate themselves a sea typ to 7 days before the game in which then they go on general sale to everyone or something along those lines.
