Six points dropped in three consecutive games where we were massively on top in the first half but didn't convert it into goals. Play-offs would have been a possibility if we hadn't fluffed so many chances.
It will be interesting to see the comings and goings this summer. On the one hand, we've got a decent base to build on, but on the other, too many of even our better players can't manage to get the ball into the net often enough when they really should.

When you can't score more than one goal, you are only ever one mistake away from not winning the game, and that has happened countless times this season, so it's very evident where we need to improve.
Ahead against Newport and we drew. Ahead against Walsall and drew. Ahead again tonight...
One was enough against Sutton and Rochdale, but it's always risky when you can't add a second and third.
Last time we managed to get 2 was against the league leaders, but we let 2 in and missed a penalty.
Ah well, it's not a disaster and our decent run continues.

I am just glad we are playing decent football now the shackles are off , a pressure free run in and an FA cup quarter final -not a bad season really is it on the whole .
I expect us to challenge for top 3 next season though , there isnt anything to fear in this league , and we have a half decent squad -5 or 6 quality additions and we are right up there .
I am more worried that with Hursts prudent approach he will still want tl try and get good deal bargains though rather than pushing the boat out ,time will tell.

Sorry but the purpose of substitions is to improve your position in the game tactically or similarly not to give academy players from other clubs a few minutes experience etc . As soon as we brought on Scannell and ONeil I feared the worst .

O Neill still playing under 21 football, jogging around when out of possesion, thinks no one will try and tackle him when he has the ball and slow in all his decisions. You can see he has a good touch and skill but should not be near starting, should have kept Essel at the club and be giving him a few sub appearances instead.

Can’t believe what I’ve just watched, the game was so one sided and we had so many chances to score and contained Crawley all game and to concede through a dubious penalty leaves me feeling gutted.

| Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 ) |

Very drunk off. Should have won 4/5-0. They were hopeless. Stupid tackle and guess what 1-1. 2 points dropped. Again
Send O Neil back, he’s not good enough, scannell looked overweight, mcatee was poor, Lloyd excellent. Sign him at all costs.
Long drive back

Stay out of The Volunteer Arms!
After 45 years of drinking for England, I have been teetotal for the last 12 years, also I wouldn't be seen dead in the Volunteer Arms.

Yes, we should have won and the disappointment gets magnified each time this happens. We have thrown so many points away. Sometimes from not putting chances away and sometimes because of individual lapses at the back. We could easily be pressing for a play off place. However, despite all of this I am going to remain optimistic. We all knew a a top striker was needed in January but we failed to get one. That has to be the priority for the summer. But we also know that we are as good as the loanees we manage to get. That’s the way it works in the lower leagues. Hopefully, we can strengthen for next year but Paul Hurst has a real job to do and it is not easy. In fact, it’s tough. Let’s be glad that we are not going back to the hell hole beneath us and hope Paul can work some miracles. I love the fight that most of the lads have shown. Most of them deserve huge praise.
