It's very easy to get behind a team and manager during spells of good form but when things aren't going so well is when we really need everyone to stick together.

Sacking our manager now will get us nowhere and is exactly how a poorly run club would react.

Just because we are a so called big club with a rich history it doesn't mean we have the right to be at the top of the league.

This league is very competitive and as such really tough to get out of without buying your way out.

We have a proven manager at this level who is building a squad to achieve the promotion we all want.

If we can stay patient and really get behind the team it will help massively.

The future is really bright at this football club. Let's not let short term frustration get in the way of our long term goals.

Keep smiling people, success is there if we are prepared to wait for it!

Are you having a laugh? Take a look at the players we have contracted for next season :-

http://codalmighty.com/site/ca.php?article=4202

Sam Russell     March 2020     3 years     May 2023

David Longe-King     2 years     May 2023

Shaun Pearson     2 years     May 2023

Luke Waterfall     January       May 2022  +1 year to commence at end of current contract

John McAtee     June 2021     2 years (based on press reports)     May 2023

Jordan Maguire-Drew     1½ years     May 2023

Do you think those players are going to get us promotion. Out of those I would only expect McAtee and Maguire-Drew to be anywhere good enough to be part of a promotion winning team.

Hurst, a bit like Buckley in his first spell, brought a lot of good players to the club when he first came, mainly from lower down. He built his reputation on those players and took a lot of them with him to Shrewsbury for more success. But they have largely stopped playing now and he doesn't seem to be able to pluck the type of player from obscurity that he used to be able to. Recruitment was always his strongest card but his powers there are waning and exposing other areas where he is not so strong more.

His only real recruitment tactic that worked back in the day was go to the league below and sing the highest young scorer.
We have attacking players at this club that he’s petrified of playing , I said when he came back that if he could have a forward standing with the ball at the corner flag for the entire game he’d be happy .
I’m not happy with having to wait another six years for us to get lucky enough to get back in the league

The same things have been said on here for the last 20 odd years in 4 different leagues , accepting long runs of terrible form by our fans has played just as Big a part in our downfall as the poor management of this club.
I’m not happy waiting for at least another six years to return to the league

Err…..He was here for 6 years? and if it wasn’t for a moment of madness from a Braintree defender to give us a penalty in the playoffs we’d still be there.

He’s not proven at all and the previous seasons we were well off the mark at being anywhere near getting automatic promotion.

But there was a moment of madness so your point isn’t relevant. In the same vane as , we had a huge chance last night and didn’t take it…football is about chances, sometimes you get them and take them, other times you don’t.

I mean you could probably point the finger at the club for learning nothing whilst in non league and getting promoted back in to league 2 and making all the same mistakes over and over again which in turn led to our relegation…again.

And it means that the euphoric celebrations that day are now tarnished somewhat because there was an arrogance (imho) that everything would fall into our lap and we wouldn’t have to work at it.

And therein lies the problem that those at the top seemingly took their foot off the gas and decided that the best method was to pat themselves on the back and smoke each other’s cigars, because that’s what they’d always done. Their positions were safe because all we had was tyre kickers wanting to invest

Call me old fashioned, but I always thought the most important thing a football club could do is to win football matches.

This lot seem asleep at the wheel. The board, the manager and the players. The number of points we’ve thrown away in the last three months is mind blowing and no one seems accountable.

A poorly run club would stick with their current manager for the sake of continuity even when the manager has shown no signs of being able to stop an alarming slump in form over a third of a season.

Add to that Monkhouse getting injured forcing him to abandon his hoof ball to the left wing, to the man double and sometimes tripple marked for it to be headed down strategy
