From the sound of the Trust's statement it is pretty close to getting over the line. If they have been discussing fan involvement etc. this suggests to me that the discussions have progressed well to get to that stage.

From the Trust's statement:

"While negotiations continue, we are not able to comment further but rest assured key principles such as fan involvement, sustainability and importance to the community have been established." If these have been established already then it must be close to being concluded you would think.

Obviously no one is going to give too much away (except for Butty's contact of course). But if there is to be significant fan involvement in the running of the club going forward I think an awful lot of peoples dreams will have come true, myself included.

I think the club did the correct thing putting out that statement last night, simply explaining the situation and saying they hoped to conclude the deal before the start of the season.

The car crash of an interview on RH had managed to deflate the situation, just when we were all feeling much more positive, which I am afraid is par for the course.

Like everyone else I really hope the deal goes through, but I expect some hiccups before it is "consummated."

People are taking the p out of Butty, but what he said ie the telegraph article to be wrong was if we believe Fenty (the official club stance) the only real inside info anyone has had from my  memory of this thread.

Inside info from butty?...really?..read back and you will see his "contact" had told him the whole thing was, to quote, "a load of tosh"...
Now ask yourself why we have all ripped the P out of him/her...

It was Tosh in a sense he had not agreed a deal he had not  passed the fit and proper person test nor had a deal been on the table for the board to agree on, so other than saying this bloke from London wants to take over the club and is in talks, the rest of the article was a load of tosh,

That article was factually correct as it stated" believed to have passed the directors test"..and there obviously is a deal that has to be agreed on..because no way would the club put out a statement saying they want this concluded before the new season starts unless they have been playing tidly winks on the boardroom table for the last 12 months...
Oh, I also pm'd Butty, at his request might I add, and as yet I have received no reply so any credibility he may have had flew out of the window...
