Just wondered how many on here will be paying the £10 for the Bury game on iFollow on Saturday, I will be.
Before I get slated for not actually going to the game, I stopped going to away games some time ago, my choice but it doesn't make me any less of a Town supporter.
I'm a season ticket holder so I suppose I could argue that all my money goes to GTFC.

You could also argue that it's absolutely nothing to do with anyone else what you decide to do on a Saturday. no need to explain or quantify yourself to anyone mate.

Didn’t think 3pm kick off league games on Saturday were available unless you are abroad

It shows on the GTFC Official Site that you can buy the game but it obviously must mean you can only get the game if your abroad End of thread

I don't think it will be on any game between 14:45 and 17:15 is blacked out. Eleven Sports stream Serie A at 17:00 on saturday but the first 15 mins is blacked out because of the ban.
I'll be suprised if it's allowed to be on to stream here in the UK without use of a VPN.
Club just confirmed on twitter. Wonder how they’re able to?

Is this a loophole in the law? I thought most TV games (excl home nations internationals and the cup final I think?) at 3pm Saturday were banned to make people attend games. It wouldn’t surprise me if they’d written it to suit for when the top two divisions are playing but it would be a bit of a stupid rule.

This could seriously effect attendances if this is going to be the norm,
A lot of home fans will not pay £20 if wife and kids go it will br even more,
They stay at home in the warm and all watch it for a tenner.
Another bad idea.

Paying £5 odd or £10 makes sense for Neulion who run Ifollow stream (FOR AWAY GAMES ONLY), because at least the club are getting something for the games, hopefully.won't be available for home games. I used to love going to away games but just to expensive on the coach your looking at £20 plus for tickets £20 to £25 for Terry's coach, then your drink and food expense it can get expensive and i used to love going.

I remember paying alot of when we played Stockport back in 2006 the game we got trounced and Phil Barnes punched the ball into the net in a day that pissing down with rain. Then you get magical win at Boston, you can't beat going to the away games but Ifollow gives you option to watch. Hopefully the streams will improve as browser stream is quite laggy sometimes.

Potentially no. If you plan on streaming the game through your UK SIM card abroad chances are your internet location will be shown Folkstone. I moved to Germany five weeks ago and could noy understand why I couldn't stream live games on cellular data. If you're using a WiFi local to the country you're visiting then you should have no problem. And for everyone's info, I'm using the Three feel at home service...and some German's WiFi on Saturday afternoons! 😅

Why would that make a difference ? Unless they think Man Ure fans would not go to watch their team and stay at home and watch Bury v Town instead.

I Bury fan can watch the game by logging into the Official Bury FC site so no need.
Eventually games will be played with no attending fans at all, everyone will just watch on the telly, obviously paying to do so. They will play crowd noises just to keep some atmosphere. Then clubs will not have to pay to build and pay for he upkeep of stadiums. We will all be armchair fans one day.

I think there’s a bit of an overreaction about this. There’s absolutely nothing like being there and those who want to go would not have been dissuaded by ifollow. I certainly wouldn’t drop my season ticket next year if the home games were on ifollow. All I think this has done is maybe attracted 500-1000 fans who weren’t going anyway to spend more money with the club. And Christ we could do with every penny we can get. Maybe if we win it’ll persuade 500 fans to attend the Oldham game.
As someone else said, we’re Town not Man United.

Home taping killed the music industry.... Let's not kid ourselves, within a few years the option will be there for everyone to stream these games without a VPN at a cost lower than it is to buy a ticket. The 2:45;5:15 embargo will disappear and Sky/BT/Amazon/Whoever will probably have live coverage of all Premier League 3pm kick-offs. The world is changing and it's getting smaller. It's up to football clubs, like Town, to respond accordingly. It's no longer good enough to just presume that people will pay through the nose for sub-standard entertainment in a poor facility. The clubs, especially at our level, that will prosper and survive are the ones who will embrace the whole match-day experience and make people want to come to games. It's easier and cheaper to stream music concerts, cinema releases etc. yet people still go to the cinema and to gigs. Why, because the experience is good!

What if in 10 years time every game is available? Chairmen have proven track record of being ‘bought’! What if you are say, 14 and get a few mates around to watch a live stream, you can do it every week, you believe you are a ‘supporter’, you may be able to delay it so you can watch it whenever you like. After a period of time it is easier to watch in the warmth of your house rather than go to a live game. Haha, actually going to a game? they used to do that years ago you know? What a waste of time and money, they must have been really crazy in the olden days!

I hope they have recorded options of "you don't know what your doing" and "the referees a w@nker" and if enough of us press a certain button on the remote it has to be played

Things will change and continue to change. But live TV football has (rightly or wrongly) increased revenue streams for football teams who’ve embraced it. If we ignored it completely the club would no doubt be criticised for not moving with the times. Personally, I think it’s publicity and most publicity is good. If someone sees Town demolish a side on ifollow that’s going to be a far more persuasive advert to attend the next game than 10,000 fliers or twitter campaigns. For what it’s worth I don’t think it’ll ever replace the live experience.

So according to Andy Holt of Accrington Stanley, most clubs were unaware of the 3pm streaming, it wasn’t discussed at the EFL meeting and it has been sneaked in through the back door by Shaun Harvey’s lot.
Just a reminder for all you mugs who think B Teams won’t be playing in our leagues within the next 10 years. These are the people running the game - sniding clubs behind their back.

I get th impression that nobody on here actually knows the breakdown of the £10, probably if people knew what amount Town get as either the home team or away team it would make their decision easier to buy or not.

I get th impression that nobody on here actually knows the breakdown of the £10, probably if people knew what amount Town get as either the home team or away team it would make their decision easier to buy or not.
My guess is and I have no knowledge of the breakdown is. Home team 51 % Away team 24 % EFL 25% BUT I could be wrong.

So back to my original question ....... Just wondered how many on here will be paying the £10 for the Bury game on iFollow on Saturday, I will be.

As an excile this is a great opportunity to watch town and contribute by paying to do so, without spending upwards of £300 on a 10 hour round trip - which I can’t afford the time or money to do.

I said this a while back and I believe this is the start. Grounds will be virtually empty soon.
For me being an exile it'll be nice to watch mid week games and providing I am not busy I'll pay to watch them.

Where the heck are you travelling from?

So you're quite happy to contribute to the problem?!

No. Not now I've learnt town will get £0 of the £10, so I'll just follow the texts like I usually do

This is what I have seen on various football websites that I looked at today.
"Where does the money from iFollow go?
The new streaming service is seen as a way for clubs to bring in significant income with the majority of the £10 for each match heading into the club's coffers.
The broadcasting deal signed in 2017 is an extra 36% year-on-year increase for clubs and ifollow is seen as a further way of increasing revenue coming into the club."

But still no actual breakdown of who gets what. I'm becoming amazed at the secrecy over various football issues, the new ground, no official statement and this I-follow thing.
