The Imp has been closed (BC)
And the Leaking boot flattened? We were put in there a few years back.

Why the big debate on Lincoln fans, good luck to them I say, its a club that has pulled out all the stops to get the fans on board, I happened to be in Lincoln ladt Saturday morning and there was a real buzz around the city like a matchday should be, I counted dozens of kids and families enjoying ths morning and getting ready for the match, its what its all about and should be an example to us at GTFC, instead of bitter comments critisising Lincoln and its fans however new they are, I recall similar commenta about Hull City and all the new fans a few years back, some have obviously dropped away but there are thousands who have remained loyal to the club. When can we honestly say there was a real buzz around the town on a matchday?

Sadly due to the elements of both Clubs and the awful Policing any decent Imps fan`s just looking for a drink in decent surroundings are going to struggle. You will be put in the Sub/Buck and Spade pub whatever name it is this week on the seafront then frogmarched to the game under escort. If you are travelling in car and keep a low profile you will get in any pubs around the market place or high st .

Will have my 8 year old with me, so will probably have a drink on the outskirts - then park up off Cleethorpes road.

I imagine you're right. Most will probably never go again either. There is not a lot family orientated around your ground is there really? At our place there is the Family Zone and Fan Zone, which is used by both sets of supporters.. Cant see the Imp or the BP Hotel being very appealing or accommodating can you?
What? There's a whole bloody beach & promenade 5 minutes drive down the road. Must have imagined all the families I saw enjoying the seafront before our last home game.

Nearleardly, if you need family fan zones etc to entice people to grounds and they won’t come otherwise that just confirms everyone’s suspicions. A so called ‘proper’ fan is happy with a game and pub outsider the ground. I go and always have done to watching the footy. Fan zones just promote plastic fans, something I don’t want at GTFC!

That's a silly position to take. We may have a larger "hardcore" fanbase than Lincoln but without enticing people who need a bit more encouragement, a "plastic" if you will, then we won't progress. We should be doing more to get families with young kids in, we should be improving our facilities so that they don't put people off (because they do), we should be looking at making the match day experience as appealing as possible to as many people as possible. Lincoln have capitalised on their football fortune in a way that our board could only dream of. In fact, our board couldn't even dream of it because they think we should turn up regardless without any positive input from them. I'm extremely envious of the way Lincoln have been run in the last couple of years. It's still hilarious and completely false to claim they "grew" their fanbase when in fact the vast majority of their fans jumped on the bandwagon during their fantastic FA Cup run. You only have to look at the attendances game to game in that season to see that and no board plans for a once in a lifetime FA Cup run to "grow" a fanbase. But what I would agree with is that they have managed to retain a huge proportion of those fans with the way they've changed the match day experience at Sincil Bank which is highly impressive.

Hah, was just about to say that. If there’s one thing we HAVE got, it’s family friendly areas. The beach/seafront/boating lake are glorious in the summer and a short walk to BP. Who the hell wants to spend time hanging around a football stadium hours before kick off?
