From the OS: "We have received an initial allocation of 150 tickets in the Pioneer Foods Stand"

HOPE this is a typo. Even if we were to easily get more, an initial allocation of 150 tickets?! That's taking the urine.

Will be there for this one, almost on the doorstep!

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

I'll look out for the 'Fenty Out' Saltire then Jock

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

If you look carefully at every post I've made on the subject Civvy, it has always been about fan's ownership. It's something I believe passionately in, and would be whoever was in charge of the club, for the simple fact that I disagree with the power of one individual to affect thousand's of lives because of either wealth, standing or privilege.

I still believe the same, and hopefully we may see a day when a fans set up runs the club lock, stock and barrel, because everyone then is accountable. I think I was the first to advocate if we go down the fan ownership route to offer JF an honorary post / life membership of the organisation (but in an advisory capacity only)

Have no argument whatsoever with JF as an indidividual - although I might relish the prospect of political debate with him - it's the whole ethose of club ownership I have issue with. BTW, if you're at Brunton Park I'll be with my old pal barralad, as I'm taking him a very special present indeed on the day.

Nice to see you're using those fine debating skills.

And actually, you can't get much more political than the subject of the ownership of football clubs. You may not agree with Jock (or me) but your position on the subject is inherently political too.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Politics isn't about one person owning a football club.

If you want a debate - I worked in two countries in the eighties for a few years that conformed to your Utopian dream, Bulgaria and Russia.  Despite the "equalities" of the communist system people were very unequal, in fact there was far more inequality than in this country. What was worse was that if they dared to speak out they vanished.
Venezuela, so feted by those of a socialist persuasion is a complete basket case.
In every walk of life there are high achievers and followers. The followers always want what they are not prepared to work for and try and steal a living off those that generate wealth. In fact it is a lot like Grimsby town players taking the fans money.
The problem is that if you urine off the wealth generators too much they get fed up and sell out, leaving the rest jobless

Struggle with all this politics stuff but, I notice that no matter what system there is the "establishment" always seem to be in a better position, wealth and power than the poor old workers.

Think you're failing to grasp the difference between socialism and communism.
