If this is true then I would still keep Wilko as backroom staff could show the strikers how to score

Personally I'd go for a younger manager on his way up. Brown is even older than slade.

I know not a lot of people like the fact he signed Ranger however, I'd argue that he has more chance of scoring a goal at BP from inside Strangeways than any of our flipping strikers do on a Saturday.

No chance it being askey or Wilkinson Mr fenty is daft but not stupid good appointment in my opinion. My source 100%

I beg to differ where managerial appointments are concerned.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Brown is still on holiday. Hasn’t applied and hasn’t been interviewed.

He's been spotted in Cleethorpes, and he's on holiday? These two things don't add up surely, not in Phil Browns world.

I'd have mixed feelings if true. On the one hand he has promotions, is a former Premier League manager and has lots of contacts. He is a relatively big name and is well known and has been successful.

On the other hand, his permanent tan is ridiculous, he's the former Hull manager but I'd let that go, worryingly I hear he had Jeremy Kyle give a team talk before a game? And played seven defenders in a cup final.

For what's out there, he would be a coup I would have thought, despite my second paragraph the more I type, the happier I think I would be with this appointment.

Thing is he got to the cup final but I’d be surprised if it’s him

Maybe he's on holiday in Cleethorpes?
