Just what we need, someone whose only managerial experience is taking a team to the brink of relegation from the National League North.

Should get him in as assistant to Buckley with Disley as Director of Football and Alan Connell as striker coach.

Could he  do a job as left back ?

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

I hope he does well as a manager and keeps going and getting experience until he does well somewhere, would enjoy seeing that, but would only want him as a manager if I felt he was an outstanding candidate from a neutral perspective. I think an ex player can be a manager of a team without it really ruining the reputation they had as a player I don't buy into that, but don't think its bound to go well if they get employed on that basis

a) is he any good?
b) did he used to play for Grimsby?

Didn't Alfreton have a bit of money for that level backed by the Mullens?

We need somebody totally fresh and preferably with no links to the club at all.  Fresh ideas and a fresh set of eyes is needed at this club.

Could Dis become player manager

Noooooo please no Disley Macca Buckley or any other 'yesterday's heroes', remember Woods, Groves et al

Someone put forward the idea of a former top level pro with experience of not only top level as a player but under top managers who wants to get into management - did anyone hear the interview with Sol Campbell on Talksport yesterday?

(he is desperate to get into management, any level considered - providing he hasn't heard of Fenty of course)

No former beloved players. I don't want anyone else to have their legacy besmirched int he same way that Groves and Wood have.

Not until they've proved themselves elsewhere that is

Come on Lee. You're a Town fan at heart. You can do us a big service by hiring him.

I don’t see Groves’ name as being tarnished. He took over a championship side punching above it’s weight on the brink of administration. Bloody tough job!

And he’s one of the greatest players to have played for us in my lifetime.

He did a superb job keeping us in the second tier and there was no shame in going down the year after, but the batterings we received in 03-04 tarnish him a bit in my eyes, unfortunately.

McDermott’s Alfreton team were the dirtiest side I’ve seen all season on Saturday.

They seemed more concerned about trying to break legs than scoring a goal.

I have it on very good authority that Moyses has 'bought' his way into the job by investing money into the club!

Still taking a wage but all a little odd if you ask me!

He was doing the job with his hands tied behind his back. I once witnessed a conversation where he was explaining some of the things that were going on and how he would've liked to have played Phil Jevons but couldn't. He was a young manager who'd kept us up against all the odds in Division one and he probably deserved better from the club.

Look at our players who were sold during that season and the players we signed under all three managers.

Was that due to there being some sort of payment needing to be made/ contract extension once he'd made a certain amount of appearances?

I believe so. Would we have got relegated if Jevons could have played all season and we'd not sold Pouton and Boulding mid season?
