I don't understand why people slate him. I'd love to have him back - he's young and got some skills. I would rathe have him than neilson...

at Wembley he was class- I don't understand why people ripped him - he got past his man 8/10 times and almost always put in a good cross...in the second half he was subdued because their left back was told to get his act together - easily a decent winger for this division and would be a comfortable league 2 winger

Yer I thought he saw so much of the ball at Wembley and is a decent winger in his league.  He also has that instinct to always arrive at the back post, he can cross with both feet too which is useful if he wants to cut inside and not take his man on.  He IS very fast but we rarely see that pace as he tends to dribble with he ball rather than getting it out if his feet, would like to see him knock it well past his full back and simply race him to it more often, but would love him to stay.. He will only get better too.

I'd like to see him stay as I rate him very highly - he's like neilson just more motivated (and faster)

If he does stay it would be good to see him play like he has since his goal at Telford all season.

Been disappointed in him this season to be honest! One of the more replaceable players IMO.

Mackreth works hard, is good defensively, pretty quick. The only drawback is he does seem to run with the ball into the corner and doesn't really know what to do with it. Maybe it's partly to do with the system and we don't have overlaps to help him enough but I'd also like to see him cut inside and go for a shot a bit more.

Suspect he'll stay which is fine by me.

I think as long as PH is our manager Mackreth will always to wanted here PH is a big fan of his, he tried to sign him for 3 seasons, i think he has gone a bit backwards with his progression when he was at Barrow he was voted in the top 5 players to play in the football league.

The following season at Macclesfield he was also excellent, he had that great game against Woking on his highlights reel which was on Premier Sports and he was great in that game that's why the guy commentated on the game mentioned Mackreth being a diamond in the opening game at Bristol Rovers.

But i would like to keep him, maybe bring Rodman back if Arnold dosn't sign lol.

I was sat right in the middle of Wembley and had an excellent view...people are trying to slate him for what the team didn't do...he was very good...but was only good when he had the ball on the right flank, when he's tracking through the middle of the park he is too vulnerable but on the wings he is fantastic. In the second half their left back played better and so MacKreth was subdued a little but he played very well....so yeah I was at the game at Wembley where a very promising, young winger was battling hard and put in some good crosses....

I agree he runs too far to the corner but he is getting more consistent in cutting the ball back and crossing or taking a swerving cross. He is very competent at at latching on to ideas as well, none of the rest of the squad have the proactivity to latch on to through balls where as MacKreth is brave enough to deliver them and to recieve them.

For me, he plays too deep and too defensively. Probably not his fault as he seemed to play with more freedom when he was at Macc.

Yaa know what I mean but yeah had a good view of MacKreth all game and I agree he sits right in the middle of the park but that's why he's a right midfield/winger as opposed to a right forward - I suppose (depending) on who Hurst signs or his tactics, MacKreth would be well suited to wing back

But one thing i would say about Mackreth he was sharing a house with Scott Brown both players away from home Brown has wife and kids they stayed put i think, i remember Mackreth mentioning that he and his missus where looking at houses and then he's staying with Brown so maybe he has struggled to settle so if he stays maybe he will be better next season.

I guess we were watching a different game then, in the first half he put in around 6/7 crosses - some where flat but that's a decent effort. Seconf half they were more awake and he put in 1 or 2 but he started to cut on the inside and weave forwards - which worked well-ish....

I thought Jack was pretty ineffective at the start of the season, however by the end of the season I think he was our most improved player.  It's clear he'd been working hard to improve and his work rate on the pitch was excellent.  I'd want him to stay just because if he continues to improve like he has then he'd be a major asset.  I think sometimes our playing system just hasn't suited a traditional winger's role with the ball mainly going central to LJL/Ollie from midfield.  This may have effected Jack's progress somewhat.

Yeah I agree. But we cannot push him into a forwards role, as he is not that type of player. We should stick to him being a wide midfielder, and that would enable him to go forward but would cater for his tracking-back habit.

It will always be difficult for him to play as a winger when he is asked to be a second full back !

Just wish he would keep going when attacking down the wing rather than stop and play it inside. He is dangerous when he gets past his man and crosses from the byline

I think he needs a trick, for getting passed his defender, then he could use his speed.
