The Non-League Paper today (29 March) reported on the Gateshead home defeat yesterday to Eastleigh. Gateshead are struggling for a number of reasons. If the wheel has not yet fallen off, it is certainly loose!  This is encouraging for us.

Gateshead were said to be with 9-11 players out over the last 5 matches.  The NLP report said that Gateshead were leg-weary yesterday.  Losing at home to Eastleigh was a game too far for them. Eastleigh had 9 shots on target.

Only the Gateshead loan keeper, making his home debut, kept them in the game with a series of fine saves.Gateshead are playing 2 games a week with a threadbare squad (no Oster).  We can hope that they come to Grimsby in the same form. Gateshead certainly do not have a settled team.

We're on roll so I quite fancy us turning them over...a double six would be nice

And another 7 against Alfreton would help.

Gateshead have been in decent form considering though haven't they? I also notice that Nuneaton, who are next up for Barnet have only lost 1 in their last 6. Come on Nuneaton do us a favour for once!!

It was only 7 months ago when we thrashed Gateshead and Alfreton in the space of a couple of days, let's hope we can get the same results this time, would do wonders for our goal difference.

Can we stick the Gateshead supporters half a mile away from the pitch where they'll need binoculars to see up the other end? Would only be fair after the seating arrangements for the playoff 2nd leg last year.

I think that the current squad members are better as a full unit than those who took Gateshead and Alfreton apart last time out.

With home support watching over the away fans on Saturday, and over 2,000 travellers on Monday, the players should have no problem hearing fans will them on to two victories.

Will Gateshead bring many fans? - their own promotion push looks as if it has come off the wheels, so not much reason to travel down?

Please support, not heckle on Saturday, and if you're near one of the main stand moaners, please remind them where we are in the league and the current run of wins - the news maybe doesn't get into the old folk's homes too well !!

Scarves, flags, colours, drums, noise !!!!! - show the team that the home fans can match the away following - challenge on !!
