Baxters OG, just because of who did it. I bet Neilson enjoyed it as much as his own 2

Actually, it would have been nice to score a couple from set pieces as well! Always good to be able to get goals from all areas of play and we could really do with scoring more goals from corners and set piece crosses into the box.

For the goals, I laughed heartily when I saw footage of Baxter's o.g. but the best quality was Neilson's belter against Gateshead. Brilliant turn and an unstoppable shot.

Next best after that was possibly LJL's yesterday for me as it was a really excellent finish from a difficult position.

Clay #2 for LJL fantastic around the corner pass and the bursting run and finish from Clay.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

some very good goals over the weekend! Neilson's first v Gateshead was a phenomenal shot with pace and dip. but my favourite goal has to be Pittman's yesterday. The way the team pressed and forced Alfreton into a mistake, backed up by some excellent play from LJL and Pittman was just what we, the fans, have been asking for for seasons now. some positivity, arrogance and passion and getting on the front foot. defence starts in attack and a few of our goals showed we will get chances if we push teams and keep going for 90mins. was delighted with the performance of the whole team in doing this! keep it up!

Clays was fantastic, there seemed nothing on with Lenny trying to keep possession, until Clay burst forward shouting for the ball from Lenny, who duly obliged and Clay struck it perfectly.

I'd probably go for this too.
Not so much about context of the game, more that it shows Lennie is quite a good passer with some vision, intelligence and creativity and how Clay isn't just a deep sitting tackler, but can make forward runs and chip in too.
So pleased it went in after hitting the post !

That was a brilliant goal. So hard to single one out as there were some excellent team and individual goals. I did think Lennie's finish for his first against Alfreton was very good indeed, and Brown's 25 yarder was so sweetly struck. But no, Baxter's og it is
