Mansfield improved in the second half after adding a bit more pace but we still played the best football - just in fits and starts. Frustrating that we didn't try to play a bit more football, but too often we just hoofed it for the sake of things!

Scott brown for me is going to be vital for us he covers so much of the ground a bit like niven and scott kerr but a faster version that can also pass the ball. Gtfc all the way

Season Ticket Holder Posts: 11,496 Posts Per Day: 1.91 Reputation: 80.75% Rep Score: +55 / -13 Approval: +4,936 Gold Stars: 27	We looked the better team tonight and deserved at least a draw, Scott Brown, Thomas,  Doig and Magnay had solid games which bodes well for the Bristol game, Paddy played well and was unlucky with his effort that came off the post. Pittman looked sharp and my guess is he will still be here Tuesday, Ironside is improving but whether that will be enough for a contract only Hurst knows, not too keen on Clay and I think that will be his last 45, both LJL and Hannah were unlucky not to be on the score sheet and all in all a good work out

Mansfield haven't changed, all a bunch of dirty illegitimates! Ironside and Clay were awful and if we sign then I will seriously question Paul's judgement. I also thought Magnay was excellent at centre half tonight and I have no worries him coming in for the start of the season! Utterly dominated by their big and physical defenders. Clay was better than against Donny the other night but still not up to much. I don't think either would be good additions to the squad. Pittman didn't do a great deal tonight, either, but I'd imagine he might be a useful different option so it wouldn't surprise me to see him sign. I agree that Magnay looked very solid and we generally dealt with the aerial assault quite well tonight, in the first half especially. Brown looks an improvement and he could make a difference in games assuming he can start to link up well with Disley.
