JT just tweeted that elding can leave on a free transfer if a team comes in for him.

Letting him go could be very bad for us. Cook isn't exactly setting the place on fire and Pearson has spent a lot of the season injured. I know elding doesn't score often and misses his customary sitter each week, but he does create space for other players to go into.

Bit harsh in their treatment football can be cruel.  I'm wondering the motivation behind this is to free up wages etc and try and make Hannahs move permanent who knows.

But we dont know what has happened behind the scenes they might have just had enough of him and sick of him moaning.

He is an average player at this level and is bang out of form. Glad he will be moving on fed up of him fannying out of challenges.

Cook had his best game ever today but still not convinced he's any more than average.Truth is there is only Neilson who has that quality were you expect something to happen next.As a team town can play reasonably well and even more so against sides who want to play-credit to Woking today- and not just close the game down but we still lack "sparkle" up front. Roll on the return of King Liam BUT who would now be his partner?

This for me.  I think the managers have been very fair.  6 starts and 4 sub apps (2 goals in one game) since he stated he wanted to leave.  There has been every opportunity for Anthony to demonstrate his desire to stay and now the managers have made, what is for me, a very sensible decision.  My big fear is that nobody wants him!

If a player is not happy and loses his motivation to fight for a place he is better off out of it. It can unsettle the dressing room. Just compare how Elds has conducted himself with Miller who has been great and fully professional. No coincident that Andy Cook had his best game for town today without Elding in the way. I think the  managers have given him every chance this season. Thanks for entertaining us last season Anthony and good luck wherever you end up.

Unfortunately after the Hyde game he went in to the Dressing room Laughing at the top of his voice and taking the P1$$ out the players for losing. I was told this today from one of the other players.  I would think the managers don’t want someone trying to upset the apple cart in the club TBH,

I heard something very similar today. The version I heard was that he had been in the dressing room after the game saying they would have won with him in the side and bad mouthing several of the players.

I have no idea whether it is true but seems strange to hear similar rumours from seperate sources and then we have today's news of him being made available for transfer

the thing is though if he really thinks he would have made a difference well how many sitters has the twit missed this year?

Hopefully the fact that we are prepared to get rid of Elding now  perhaps means Liam is ahead of schedule on his recovery, would love to see a side with Neilson, Hearn Marshall/Colebeck in it, playing the ball around on the deck, but with Cook or Pearson on the bench if we need to change the style  in a game to more  route 1.

I made a point of this in the Elding thread but I never expected him to be this bad.  Being shown the door after they tried to keep him shows how much up his own bottom Elding is.  Average non performing BSP player who will be lucky to find his next club and for that reason I'm out, goodbye Elding, Linscum will be his next club.

Elding is well known for feeding the press the rumours of impending transfers himself. He is a flipping moron, hopefully will end up rotting at some shithole like Kings Lynn.

Good news imo. He wanted out, he's on decent money thats better off spent elsewhere. No brainer really. He'll get himself his 15th club pretty soon coz he has a good agent, but in reallity will he get a better opertunity to be part of a good club, on a promotion charge, with the number 1 striker out injured allowing the chance to be a hero, on nearly 4 figures a week, and local to his home? No.

I may be putting 2 + 2 together and getting 5 but is it only a coincidence that Elding's good friend Brad Wood was also dropped today?.

Could we maybe offer him a termination of his contract? No pay-off, just rip it up?

If this is the case then I'd have more sympathy for him if he hadn't been one of our worst players this season.

elding is a cart horse ,cant score for toffee ,his 2 goals being a nicked 1 on the line and a pen ,misses more chances than anyone i know at the club ,bad in dressing room ,shall i go on .............and the stuff said on here is all true and as a top earner at the club ,decent wages for someon else!!!

I see this as  real shame for Elding to be leaving like this. I don't care what anyone says, he was quality for us las season and I think the situation could have been handled by all sides in a much more dignified fashion.

What have Scott and Hurst done wrong in this situation? He requested a transfer but they didn't freeze him out, they gave him a lot of chances and he's been poor and not taken those chances. Then if he did what he is alleged to have done the other night, they have to get rid of him because he could disrupt the harmony of the squad. Plus the fact if its true then he's clearly a prick.

In my opinion Cook had his best game for us and Hannah played well also so hopefully they may form a better partnership than Elding and Hannah, but in the context of the season so far the comment about the front lacking sparkle isn't far from the truth and today of the five goals only one was by a striker.

Which one out of Cook and Hannah is not a striker??

I presume neither the 3rd or 5th goal has been taken away from them??

Apologies to ary arry arry as now I've seen the highlights, it's clearly Thanoj for the third not Hannah as was put on the soccer reviews today!

Elding has had plenty of chances this year to make a difference and he hasn't. Thank you for the two goals at barrow but what about all the chances missed?

The amount of clubs he has had would suggest he's either a bad apple or just jumps when the going gets tough or doesn't go his way.

Getting rid frees up cash which can be spent on better players. And yes, the gimps will probably sign him, they get all our cast offs...

Yeah, Hannah's effort was put right at the keeper and he saved it. Thanoj's follow-up somehow managed to squeeze past two players into the goal. Both of them should have put it either side of the keeper (Hannah) or defenders (Thanoj) but instead hit it down the middle! At least it eventually went in.

Well you say that but even Miller was reported to be "disappointed" to be left out of the Kidderminster game.
Not that isn't natural to be to some extent or it's any reflection of his professionalism or even comparable to Elding or any other player.

My wild guess is he just wants to play, the partnership with Hannah hasn't worked out (yet) and he thinks he's been treated unfairly by being left out the side. (if true it's half and half IMO)
