I'm sure that even soap haters have heard of Jack Duckworth. Sadly the actor who played him Bill Tarmey has died whilst in Tenerife.

Bill was also a supporter of a number of brain tumour charities as his son Carl has a brain tumour and had helped to raise thousands of pounds over the years.

RIP Bill.

Quite literally bumped into him in a shopping mall in Toronto in 1990, very humble and pleasant fella, i was suprised that the Canadian lass i was with knew who he was until she explained they had been getting Coronation St for 20 yrs or more.
