How long has the official town website been that way?
Absolute mess, impossible to find anything useful and a thoroughly painful experience. Talk about 1 step forward, 8 steps back.

the sooner we drop the PTV website the better, one good thing about being non league is that all the tinpot clubs have proper websites with high quality highlights and its all free.

it's an absolute disgrace. I work as a software tester and it is my job to make sure things like this new website work as they should do for our paying customers. Clearly this company do not employ such quality assurance measures. I mean, how many subscribers are there in the FL/NL to access material on their respective clubs. No one was consulted about the proposed change.
As a MW subscriber I find it apalling that this company has released this shoddy website that takes so long to load the scripts within the site. The "contact us" feedback post does not even work. As a paying customer it would have been nice to be informed about the upcoming changes to the website.
I think we should start a petition against this new site, either through the club or directly to the company responsible for its development.
I'm weel pee'd off tbh

I wish! lol. No I work for a pensions company so test a lot of internal applications which are company facing as well as various .Net applications linked to sql databases. I test all external customer facing programmes (web based and documents produced as a result of IT initiated actions. That's just to name a few. Would be nice if I just tested websites...would make my world a hell of a lot easier. Think we should team up to sort out the town OS lol |

It is an occupational hazard. I'm a software engineer specialising in website development. I do agree on the lack of testing that has gone into the site. This excrement would never go live where I work. I tried to complain about it but the form doesn't submit! I don't think they particular care though as you can't go to a rival Grimsby Town official site. So they're quite happy to serve up shite. |

Lincolns site is also the same. I know naff all about website design but I know an awful lot in stock control and order processing software and eCommerce lol the company I work for in Lincoln is called OrderWise I believe we have a few GY customers lol

The site won't actually load properly using Opera. It's dead slow using Firefox with the various elements taking ages to load on an Intel i3 and the layout looks appalling even on a 22" monitor.
Whoever designed that layout should be slapped around the side of the head with a very large haddock.

As an exiled Mariner who largely relies on the OS to keep up to date with GTFC I have to say that the new site has largely detracted from the pleasure derived in staying in touch. Like many have mentioned the new site is very slow compared to the previous reincarnation and I'm particularly surprised that the site hasn't become 'slicker' since it was launched and presumably worked on.
Wasn't there a thread on here recently about GTFC getting to grips with all forms of social media? I can't seem to find it now. Does anyone have the contact details for the chap in charge?
