Back page today, serge has no future with the club, feel a little sorry for the guy, if he wasn't injured celebrating, maybe he still would have been in the side? Don't know if he will take the contract settlement though, if he does, good luck serge, could always count on you for entertainment and effort

Can't fault the guys effort, however he simply isn't good enough. How ironic that celebrating the winner n an FA Cup tie has cost him his career with us!

Good luck Serge in whatever you decide to do.

I suspect the injury has little to do with the reason for him not being in the side...may be the fact he has so little footballing ability it's touch and go as to whether or not he should be called a footballer at all...

Giving him a three year deal has to be a bad a signing as Martin the girl private butler?

If he's under contract we may as well keep him even if he just plays in FA Trophy games

But then we would be wasting money by having him sat in the stands week after week when we dont need him. Surely any agreement to pay Serge off would mean paying him less than his current contract is worth. I wouldn't blame him if he just sits on his wage and waits for his contract to expire, as I cant see him getting any employment like what he is on now.

Is anyone going to want him when he has had a year out of football. I think he should be thinking about his career more than anything because if he does stay and get released I think he will have to look for another career path to go down.

He's not good enough but he's got more ability than people think. He just seems to lack the footballing brain to use it properly, which is the difference between making it and not.

Was still a really daft idea to give him a three year deal though, it's not as if he was really young either.

That's just it- no brain for the game. Lots of pace but no end product most of the time.

Plus - we don't know what he's been like in training and we don't know much about his attitude to the game. Some people would say he's right to stay and make the club pay his wages for doing nothing as a penance for giving him the deal but to my mind no true pro footballer would want to do that, they's want to play matches. He even refused to go on loan so no wonder the managers are wanting to get rid.

Has he got the relevant degree to be a teacher?

I know plenty of people who are good runners but it doesn't mean they have the credentials to be teachers.

5I agree with people about Serge's effort - I appreciate any player who gives 100% for town every chance they get. That said he was bloody awful and his signing alone justified Forrest Gump's dismissal. Good luck Serge but you really should get trained for another career!

I hope Fenty doesn't release another statement like he did a year ago

My wild guess is it's being made public trying to force his hand.
e.g. don't be known as someone that was prepared to sit on his @rse with no prospect of football in the future.

I was wondering the same as Rob whether he should be kept on but who knows what's going on behind the scenes and guess it's too late now in any case...

Tbf fair don't think he's as bad as people make out either - next to 0 end product but he's scored a few and there's not too many Town players that can take on and beat other players.
That was probably Woodsys thinking when he signed and he said he was one for the future.
So don't agree with these "What was Woods thinking ?" arguments - seems pretty obvious to me.

Actually I wouldn't blame another club for taking him off our hands, he's definitely got something.
