Most Bournemouth fans are not happy at all with this appointment going by their forum.

Just as an aside, and nothing really to do with their disappointment is that Grovesy will be the first Bournemouth manager for almost 30 years who isn't an ex-player of theirs.

Seems like the Bournemouth fans think that Grovesy will be a yes man for their chairman/owner.

A few posts from their forum.

The only positive I can take from this is that Groves has the whole summer to build his team. Hopefully he'll decide quickly who's staying and going and work which players he wants to get in.

Still not convinced that he'll do any good though. More worried about relegation next year than promotion at the moment.

Quoted Text
I am gutted by the decision, I was hoping the longer things went on the more likely another manager was going to be appointmented.
I know quite a few that won't be renewing season tickets (Not me I might add) and my main concern is if we finish mid table again next year Maxim will get bored and find new opportunities else where leaving us in the SH*T!!!
More deflated than when Bradders got an improved 3 1/2 year deal, I worry for the times ahead

Quoted Text
You couldn't make it up.

Can't wait for Republican to come along and give his drama queens speech.

Is there any chance that, once we all get past the indignant outrage phase, we can get behind the poor fucker?

Not his fault he's been offered the job.

Would any of you turn it down?

Quoted Text
Atleast I won't be having sleepless nights excited at the thought of a new season, new signings and an ambitious chairman/partner steering our wonderful club to success. Instead I'll not even think about such ridiculous thoughts and concentrate on the weather, FAR more chance of reality and can believe the weather forecaster FAR more than Mitchell!!!
Jeeeeezzzz, however, reality is I'm depressed now, stupid of me to think EM would actually mean what he said and go for promotion, he DID however get HIS way yet again, not a control freak of cause.

Here's hoping he proves them all wrong but it looks like he's going to have a job to win the fans round.

Think he'll do well if he's supported. He's now a very experienced coach and a few years older than when he was at Town. If he's half as good a manager as he was a player then he'll do fine.

I agree with Rodley Mariner and it's very much the way I'm thinking too.  He was on a hiding when he took the Town job, no money and certainly no support from the then chairman.  Grovesy was schooled by AB and for a team like Bournemouth should be really pleased they have him.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.
