I've just realised that these 2 games are on the same night (next Tuesday). Did we arrange the Tamworth game after it was announced Michael Coulson was in the squad as if so it's surprising we agree to that date as Coulson will miss the game.

Darlo were told they were not allowed to play on the same night as England C so doubt we will be.

Well it's a bit late to change the date now.

Quoted Text
Paul Fairclough picks his non-League best for Italy game.

Paul Fairclough has named his England C squad for the upcoming International Challenge Trophy (ICT) opener against Italy on 28 February.

The C squad is comprised of players aged 23 or under from outside the Football League, and Conference North side Hyde are represented by their prolific goalscorer Scott Spencer, the only player among the 16 who plies his trade outside the Conference Premier.

Six of the squad went to Gibraltar last November for an ICT warm-up game while the remaining ten players are all first-time call-ups, including former England U17 international Eddie Oshodi.

Squad in full

Goalkeepers
Preston Edwards (Ebbsfleet United), Jonathan Hedge (Tamworth)
Defenders
Mickey Demetriou (Kidderminster Harriers), Eddie Oshodi (Forest Green Rovers), Andrew Owens (Southport), Kevin Roberts (Cambridge United), Jamie Turley (Forest Green Rovers)
Midfielders
Kenny Davis (Braintree Town), Kieron Forbes (Forest Green Rovers), Michael Coulson (Grimsby Town), Adam Watkins (Luton Town), Matty Blair (York City)
Forwards
Adam Boyes (Barrow), Danny Rose (Fleetwood Town), Scott Spencer (Hyde), Jamille Matt (Kidderminster Harriers).

28th Feb is the date we play away at Tamworth.

From a quick check it looks like they were indeed denied permission.

The Tamworth game was moved again because of the England game to 27th March.

Ah, I didn't realise that. It's still on the fixture list on here as next Tuesday.

I think it was announced just after it had been arranged for Feb 28th.

Any North-West based Mariners going to Fleetwood next Tuesday then to watch the game. It's free entry apparently so there should be a decent crowd there.

Hurst said in an interview he wanted the game rearranged to the England C game date, that was after Coulson was picked, so guess they thought they could still win without Coulson. However he did say he wasn't sure if Tamworth would agree or the conference would allow it.

Guess they didn't.

Suprised so few of our players have been called up.

Trophy games don't have to be played on the Tuesday, they have to be played before the Thursday, so if its a draw we will probably replay it on Monday or Wednesday.

I think BSS midweek games next week have been arranged for Monday night because of the England C game.
