I appreciate there are plenty of people on here who don't care about England but as a Town fan, who is probably never going to see Grimsby play in Europe, England offers me the chance to travel around the world supporting a team in the same way Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool etc get to in the Champions League, so I do care. In that light, I noticed on the beeb today an article suggesting Wenger be put forward for the post when Fabio leaves after Euro 2012, should we qualify.

Redknapp is the press' favourite but I was just wondering who everybody else would like? A comment on the beeb said we always tend to go successful club managers and it would make a change to go for someone who has been successful with international teams. A fair point.

I personally don't want Redknapp, I want Hiddink. I don't buy into the he must be English argument, if they win, who cares? Ask any Red Devil.

Well, you must be doolally. He hasn't got a clue. Clearly, you've watched match of the day as your profile is sporting a picture of popcorn head, in which case, have you listened to Alan Shearer? He hasn't got a clue! All he does is repeat Hansen in a simplified form. Plus, he only achieved in further compounding Newcastle's relegation. He should superglued to the settee in the MOTD studio, nevermind left on it.

Sam Allardyce for me

You must have enjoyed Slade's style of football when he was in charge then? Long ball isn't going to win England anything. Sam Allardyce has, for some reason a great reputation despite the fact he's only really had two successful periods in English football - Notts County and Bolton Wanderers. At Bolton, he didn't spend much on transfer fees but he spent loads on wages - do you think Djorkaeff, Campo et al came on £5k a week wages? Wages equate to a transfer budget as well. He spent money one way or another to get Bolton where they were. I have to watch enough rubbish supporting Town, if I'm going to play £60 a pop to watch England at Wembley I expect them to play it on the deck. Allardyce is a definite no for me. Just because he wears an earpiece doesn't make him a modern manager...

Steve Bruce, and soon. He can give Titus Bramble a consultative role, it appears he might not be playing for a while.

Not Redknapp that's for sure. He'd go back to playing Gerrard and Lampard in centre-mid together, the fool, as he's said countless times he would in the press.

Stuart Pearce for me, although i did hear a nasty rumour Steve McCarrot Top could be considered again...

I thought I had seen the end of the world. Desolation, Isolation, Destruction, Mutants and the end of Civilisation.
Turns out bloody Tom Tom had directed me through Scunthorpe City Centre.

ALEX FERGUSON

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.
