Any side found  breaking the rules needs to be proportionately punished within a certain time frame, or it makes a mockery of the whole pyramid. Points deductions don't seem right mid season, and the odd point dropped here and there is pretty meaningless. #newera;   New owners, new approach;  'we bought Grimsby Town to help renew the place we love'   Join the Trust, get involved: UP THE MARINERS!

It causes them to drop out of automatic promotion, drop out of the playoffs or drop into the relegation zone. If none of those things happen then the point deduction should be held over to the start of the next season. Point deductions should be a penalty. This one isn’t because Morecambe’s realistic playoff chances were already over.

In some ways you could say how is that sustainable but I suppose they we’re banking on still being in the premiership when they agreed those transfers.
