Hi guys, I'm new on here, though a long time reader, and a die-hard Mariner since 1988. Anyway, some of you may have seen on socials that I'm the club specific Town writer for Football League World. I've made an account so I can share my work on here moving forward. Hopefully, you enjoy the varied coverage and opinions. Happy to debate and chat about all topics.

Here's my latest article, published today........

Are you able to transfer across to their sister company National League World at the end of the month?

noticeable lack of pace and physicality throughout

This line stuck out to me. It's well known I've never been much of a Hurst fan, but one thing I really never got on board with while he was here was when he described a player, especially when he described them as fast, big, and strong. What hurts called fast was usually bang average pace same for big and strong, his big was similar to Buckley anyone over 5ft 8 was considered big and if they could open a jar of pickles they passed his strength test.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: What's an IQ? - George Best

Our last genuinely pacy player was probably Michael Reddy - although saying that I have probably forgotten an obvious one or two. Obikwu came described by Cov fans as pacy but we haven’t seen that imo. I would say watching football higher up the divisions the thing that most strikes you is how quick the players are physically as well as in thought. I think that’s just how L2 and the Conf are.

Kiernan?

I think we should've offered him something.

In my time watching , since 77 ish , I think i can count Boulding and Reddy as the only two genuinely quick strikers we have had and Reddy being the ultimate....maybe Gary Cohen as well but didnt see enough of him really. Marcel Cas I seem to think was pretty quick on the wing and Macca was rarely troubled for pace for most of his career.
That isn't many for 40 odd years of watching 😅

That was the elastic band but we know what happens to those.
I see he has played 36 times this season for Halifax most as a starter. Perhaps his body didn’t like the Dave Moore aporoach

Simple as the maths may be, add 34 points dropped to what we have and we would be second in the league right now.

Scored a well taken goal for Halifax at Kidderminster this evening.
