Wasn’t able to tune in unfortunately. We’re there many there tonight? Well done all those that did go and give their support to what sounds like, a very promising crop of players

Great performance and result for all the right football and character reasons.

Forest are not just a PL Youth set-up.  In 2022 they only lost
In the final to Man United at Old Trafford.  They have a pedigree and academy of the highest quality.

A record 67,492 attendance.  Massive home support.

Arguably, Forest only lost because they had a brilliant player called Garnacho who scored 2 goals. Although unlikely either were a brilliant bicycle kick.

……….

Town can take great confidence from this scalp.  With a good draw could go further in the cup.

Idly looking at previous results, last season Cambridge were extremely close to the semi-finals.  They only lost 3-2 away to Arsenal in the quarters finals.

Arsenal scored the winner in the 93 rd minute and ended up reaching the final.  Cambridge took a  very big following with 2,700 fans.

I imagine that they were on a similar level to us or only slightly better.

Absolutely fantastic evening at BP, watching some immensely gifted footballers.

Credit has to go the team and in particular the youth set up at GTFC.

Hope the lads get an even tastier draw in the next round & are backed by an even bigger crowd!

Sleep well Icey, Matty and Richard. Keep each other company up there xx

I think we lost 1-0 away to Newcastle in the FA Youth Cup.  A great result for us.  sIf we had won we would have played Man United away.  The year before Newcastle had a free-scoring striker called Andy Carroll.

I went to that game at OT. Forest had 7000 fans there. It was only £1 admission too. Rude not to go. I only knew about it as I'd seen Brentford there a few weeks before and they plugged the game in their programme.

Seems like quite a significant win. Does anyone with a bit of knowledge know what our best run in the Youth Cup is?

We made it to the last 16 in 1994, lost to Bradford in a replay.
