Listening to one of the most recent episodes of the Quickly Kevin podcast, it referenced a spectacularly un pc column that goes under the pseudonym Mandy Mariner from the 2003 .  Anyone remember this as I don’t ? Well worth a listen 14 :30 in .
Hard to believe it got the ok from whoever was in charge of content at the time ?
Surely all columns that were in programs should be saved for posterity.

Yes, I remember the regular  “Mandy Mariner” feature in the programme, picture the double entendre’s of a “Carry On” Film thinly disguised as travel tips etc. complete with “Mandy” posing in a skimpy Town kit.

“It’s a long journey to Portsmouth, but I’ll be going all the way with you” etc.

It’s prehistoric!!

Good job the new club crest has been digitally calibrated; if we brought back Mandy now we wouldn’t have the orientation and scaling problems that are evident on Mandy’s badges.

Ps. Is that even Mandy or is it Richard Hughes?

I remember this appearing on Twitter (as above). Someone defended it as going with the flow given "lad culture and Loaded etc".

It's from 2003, we were even 7 years late with our sexism.

Possibly gives you an idea of the culture of the club, wasn’t it only a year later that the infamous ‘sinks for the ladies’ or whatever it was video wasn’t aired on socceram?

Whilst there’s a debate about something being of it’s time and all that jazz, the fact someone even thought this a good idea is mind blowing…
