It's risk and reward. Green is on his way up and may well be sold on at some point if his progress continues. He may also help us achieve promotion and we have him tied to a deal. We paid a fee for him, so he's seen as an asset now and for the next 2/3 seasons.

Morris is more of a risk and at a point in his career where he needs the boost of a good season. If he bombs here, or spends most of his time on the treatment table, he'll probably slide down the leagues. If he does a Danny Andrew or Ben Fox, he's got options.

Looking at Morris’ stats from last season and the year before, he certainly doesn’t seem made of glass. From what I could see, when he starts he invariably plays almost the full 90 and always manages over an hour. He’s been playing regularly in Leagues 1 & 2 for the past few years without any lengthy spells out with injury.

Compare that with Fox, who before joining us had made 9 appearances (total) in the previous 2 seasons. Or Jon Nolan that some were hoping, who’d not managed more than an hour in 7 consecutive games since 17/18.

Could be another gem.

Interesting why he only signs a 1 year deal and Green gets 2 plus an option on a third….Hope Paul H gets asked that question. Fox only signed for a year and then left. Would have at least liked to have seen an 1 year option on this deal too.


His answer probably won’t be one is better then the other.
