I seem to recall McKeown going on DN35 and knowing straight away that he wouldn't be captain much longer when Hurst came in because "the gaffer hates keepers as captains."

I've always said that a goalkeeper should never be captain of a team.

You need someone out there in the middle of the park to get people going if needed.

Hurst has said there are 3 or 4 candidates behind him so I guess it depends who is on the pitch but the obvious candidates are Pearson and LJL.

He is to me Dapperz, I know there’s 1 or 2 areas he could have improved on, however he’s been a great servant to the club and done lots for the community etc.
