"Grimsby Western relief road and 3,800 new homes will 'damage' Freshney Valley, say campaigners."

Thoughts.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Not close enough to the detail, but looking in from outside it does look like Grimsby is being ‘doughnutted’ with wasted space in the middle. Though I can see it’s more complicated to renovate vacant properties.

Does Grimsby really need that many more houses? The population isn’t going up is it?

Saving routes along riversides into urban areas is a really good thing to do as it allows wildlife to connect up otherwise isolated areas. Also as I’ve found over the last year or so, walking along urban/suburban river banks can be a great cheap way of exercising and seeing an interesting mix of flora, fauna, and urban/industrial heritage. I’ve done a lot of walks along restored tributaries of the Thames and it’s been a Godsend.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

It doesn't really matter what we think. Current and new planning laws are builders' dreams come true.

Scartho is filling up, New Waltham, Waltham, and Humberston are the same. Council (red or blue ) don't care as it's more income from rates.

Planning law is stacked in developers’ favour too. But there’s always hope.

Shame this isn't part of an enabling development designed at raising a large amount of the required funding for a new stadium for GTFC.

Western relief road provides links from Morrison’s to A15, A46 and A180. Sounds like the ideal location for the new ground (not that this appears to be on the table/ under consideration)

I think we've been down this road before.
