If someone feels the need to use the words 'I'm not a racist but...' it usually means that's exactly what they are.

Or does it mean that because anybody seen to not be 100% fully committed to the "minorities" is automatically branded a racist by the far left. So if they make a comment which may be regarded as fair and proper by the vast majority of the country they still feel the need to say, "I'm not a racist".

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

I just think calling anyone a Pakistani is unnecessary. I believe the correct term for someone from Pakistan is a Pakistani? And she wasn't even from there or near there. She was just Muslim. Though I do agree that she shouldn't have complained and been given money when she was on facebook with a revealing top on.

Even agreeing that she was out of order and that she exploited her religion, that doesn't mean she did it because of her religion or nationality.

Civvy - I think it's usually when people are trying to excuse their racism that they use 'I'm not a racist but.....' I think Lukeo's thread backs me up in this instance.

Norway have about 5,000,000 people. They export oil and gas which the rest of us need.

This trade thing worries me. Why would the E.U. countries need to trade with us when they can get whatever they need cheaper and easier from within the E.U? What actual "assets" do we have. Our coal industry is in tatters, our oil is running out. We don't make cars anymore (or for that matter anything of note). Take away our financial centre and we don't have a lot which might attract trade. Perhaps we could turn G.B. into a big amusement park?

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.

Your last paragraph is about as spot on as makes no differance. And a bunch of young kids thinly disguised as bankers and investment managers threw away the only credability we had left by gambling instead of banking and investing.

These are very good points Barra. Norway has oil and gas fields similar in size and revenue to the UK but have less than a tenth of our population; therefore it goes a far longer way. Much of Norway's oil and gas revenue has been placed into public trusts by the Norweigan government for infrastructure work and for future generations to benefit from when it all runs out.

Whereas the UK government pissed all theirs up on tax cuts and the the EU didn't make them do it either.

One of the cornerstones of the EU is, of course, trade. EU members remove trade barriers such as tariffs and quotas, allowing trade to move freely between borders. Countries outside of the EU have such tariffs and quotas placed on their goods sold within the EU unless they belong to European Free Trade Association or neogotiate their own dispensation.

Good chance that if the UK quit the EU they wouldn't be look favourably on allowing us to trade freely within the Union. British goods would become very expensive. Cars made in the UK would suddenly be very pricy on the forecourts of Paris and Berlin. Therefore manufacturers like Nissan, Honda and Toyota who came to the UK because of our EU membership would relocate to an EU member state, thus putting tens of thousands of British workers on the dole. And that's just one example.

Millions of people work in this country because of the EU, becuase their employers can export to the EU.
People forget about this. People think leaving the EU will be a panacea to all our ills but it will only open a far bigger can of worms.

Mr McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

You could have single handedly scuppered UKIP if you'd posted this a fortnight ago. Oh a chance missed...........

When people get pissed off they let their inhibitions down and lash out with their true feelings.

Just saying, like...
