After consecutive relegations, finishing adrift of the dross of league 2, and getting turned over 6 zip think I’d ‘throw them under the bus’ too. Seems fairly possible the players are responsible rather than poor luvs who’ve tried hard and just got a bit unlucky..

It’s incredible that a team who were in L1 last season, and spent a fortune on agents this season, could be adrift at the bottom like this.

There must have been some truly abysmal retention and recruitment decisions. They went through three managers too didn’t they?

Proper glad they are on there way back where they belong, two more relegations after this one should do it.


In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

It is likely to get his wish - but in reverse. Maybe some obscure lower non-league championship

Funny you say that, because I had that same thought a couple of weeks ago, given they’d already been relegated from League One. You have to zoom in a bit but they’ve left that one on. It was one of the cringiest things I’d seen for a long time when they announced those stars; it’s even worse if they keep them now they’re back where they started.
