The problem is both Hunt and Content are operating in the same area of the pitch. There's no link between them and the attacking four who tend to stick to their positions than provide movement, for example to come deep and link up play. It's a very rigid Hurst approach.

Your point about the County wide men receiving the ball high up the pitch is something I mentioned a few times last season, or rather that is exactly what we don't do.

We have to play several passes just to get out of our own half before we can mount a serious attack but with the best will in the world, you have to be awfully good to construct a move deep inside your own half resulting in a worthwhile effort on goal.

If we have no target man and our wide men aren't already up the pitch to go straight on the attack what is the plan?

This is a great point. But it goes back to the Glennon situation. Whoever is playing on the wide left is having to play too deep to protect him and we therefore don't get high enough to support Rose nor do we have an out ball for Vernam or Eisa to chase or turn the opposition full back round.

Does Hurst not trust Glennon or Amos and therefore sets up too negatively? With the personnel we've got, we'd be better off with wing backs.

By the sponsors. In a game he wasn’t close to being MOM in.

I think people got programmed to think Hunt is a good footballer because that’s what social media has told them. The evidence in the form of impact on games doesn’t support it. He needs too much time and space to get passes away to be effective in the EFL.

That was McGoldricks  role yesterday collect the ball in deep lying central position and pass it out to the two wide men . Nothing flash simple and effective

Playing his heart out for his hometown club at 35 years young. Player of the year at Sheffield United 2018-2019, Player of the Year at Derby last year (25 goals in 45 games).  He strolled around finding space to receive the ball and hardly ever wasted it. Class performance and slotted into an already settled squad.

It was always going to be a difficult game for us trying to bed so many players in in one go.
