Ive come into my 15 year!

I joined back in April 2008 after I left the Grim outlook and OS forums.  

I have only been back since last year so 2022

I had an account on the old fishy but once that went I was just a watcher for years.

I would be interested to know who is still here from the start of the old fishy .

2019 under this name but I've had a couple of other names from when I was a drinking toss bag ...... I'm still a gob shite but I do it sober now lol

This is the New Testament. The Old Testament was the rivals site. Many people came from there. A few came from the topica mailing list before that and even older scriptures dating back to paper. Billo was the Moses who led the exodus to Rivals.

Changed to "Promotion Plaice" the first time we was promoted from the National league.

Started on the Rivals Electronic Fishcake site during the 1999/2000 season  (I was 14 years old  ) …vividly remember Billo and Rob running it back then when the format was really simple, every team had a site and you could use your same login to go and post on other teams forum.

Can’t remember when the split happened though.

Started on Billo's mailing list many, many moons ago then mostly on the Electronic Fishcake and then Grim Outlook until that ceased.

I probably had a Fishy account from quite early days, but no idea when I signed up.

Rivals.net iirc, until the platform went bust a few years later. I can certainly remember the Electronic Fishcake before it moved over to Rivals, and the email mailing list which, I think, pre-dated the forum.

That would have been late 1998 I think, so I’d have been about 13 at the time. Mad just thinking about it; almost 25 years ago. At the time, the internet seemed new and exciting and Town hadn’t turned shìt yet, which was unknowingly exciting in itself.

Great to see that mate, and some of the old usernames, sadly missed. I was on the electronic fishcake with another name (not Hangliding Jesus), then I went to Grim Outlook, then came back to the fishy when the GO faded away.

My guess for your old moniker Poojah would be Strangepants.

Been here a while although don't post as often as i used to and still slowly labouring on towards that 10K post lol.  I can't remember exactly but i think i had a different username before the site was closed and re-opened, then a remember chasing around sending messages to ex fishy members that the site is now backup.

Probably when I first moved to Grimsby, so be about 2009/2010 for me.

Took an interest in Grimsby games for a football fix whilst down here, despite being in the same league as Darlo at the time.

Done a few away days and a Wembley trip with you guys now when I’m not at Darlo games.

Late to the Fishy game, signed up in 2018 but had been a long time reader and had posted on various other forums talking about Town and footy since 2004. Was on Grim Outlook a bit but not a massive amount.

August 2009 for me.

On the Electronic Fishcake, my username pops up on one of those old threads that Poojah put up. Then Grim Outlook. Then back here then there was the Fenty purge, then back on again.

Seeing some of those old names on that Poojah post brings back a lot of memories. RIP Guernsey. I know Sacktheboard still attends and I still see KLM (KingsLynnMariner) and Haddoctor at major events. I know that Yorkmariner posts on here under a different username, not Poojah. I see DHM (DiehardMariner) was posting back then too. Aaaah good memories.

Be about 98/99 I joined on the Fishy, just before the jump to Rivals I think.  

Became less frequent on there probably around the time of those links when, from hazy memory, I think Grim Outlook formed because of a weird set of arguments that revolved around Football/Non-Football topics.  Grim Outlook died a death and then I've dipped in and out of frequency, which may or may not be linked to my employers internet usage policy  

I was originally on the old electronic fishcake site 2000 ish onwards as a schoolie, I've been a lurker on the new site for a while but joined in anger last year

Joined 11th December 2013  @ 8.37pm, so quite new compared to many on here.

One of the wittiest posters I remember. Larry lived in Leicester and he and his wife Poll used to come over as often as possible for matches. Lovely couple but I haven't heard from them in an age.

15 years ago this year.

It was in early 2008 when I was first diagnosed with my brain tumour, so it was not long after then. I did have another 5 operations over the next 3 years though, before they finally sorted me out!

Certainly were mate. Never have conversations about cheese caused such consternation. Wish STB and Doc still posted. I think Jase does. Don’t know if Poojah has admitted his original moniker yet, although I suspect you know mine 😉

Diehard got it right on page 5 - there's a double raspberry magnum with his name on it in the post (though it was a warm day when I sent it, so it might be a bit..."damp", when it arrives).

Can’t recall exactly when but think it must’ve been very late 90’s on the fishy, then a spell on GO and then back here. Brief hiatus when this bowed down to Fentys pathetic threats. Post more on Twitter than anywhere now, like anywhere has it’s good and it’s bad - like here..some very good posters mixed with some guff ones. Not a fan of folk craving attention and posting rubbish to get it.

That said some very informative/kind and generous folk on various outlets, helped with charity walk last year and other efforts - one thing Town fans are good at is coming together for a cause.

And lastly..some very good posters/people no longer with us since I started, far too many to name but contributed a great deal and sadly missed.
