Khouri gets another start, but no McAtee on the bench. We'll see how Orsi and Khan get on together up front.

Looking at the team I don't know if I can be arsed to go
Presumably you wrote this before the team was even announced? Other than finding space for Lloyd (*) somewhere and Maher for Smith (Efete vs Emmanuel is a close-ish call),it looks like close to the strongest team we can field?! *perhaps because Hurst doesn’t think we have a chance of signing him permanently (or doesn’t want to) - I don’t know. Or he has a niggle.

Really hope Aaron Braithwaite gets some minutes tonight, hearing some really positive things about him.

Is it just me or does Harry look like he’s auditioning for a 90s Channel 4 drama about a young vicar, torn between his faith and a busty, mohair sweater wearing parishioner called Meredith? Contains nudity.

He's just noticed her leaving the chiropodist, but her appointment wasn't until a week on Thursday. Perhaps those rumours are true, after all.

Father Clifton? think he might be a bit young to have such a large part! Maybe he'd learn a lot if he served under Richard Coles for a while! The words busty and Meredith do go well together!

He's done some wayward passes, yes. But I'd be interested to see his pass succession rate as I bet he's done more good than bad. Overall a good half in my eyes. Fairly slow but feels like we've had 90% possession. All 5 midfielders are trying to play football and a couple times there was some nice 1 touch passing.

Why can’t you focus on the positives for once? Excellent free kick for the goal, always trying to be available, some early balls that have and haven’t come off, I think he’s had a decent half.

Well that felt like a training game didn't it. We've pretty much dominated the half without really looking like getting out of 1st gear.
If Crewe are going to do anything this game its probably going to be through Agyei he's been quick, strong and direct every time he gets the ball.
Much better showing from Manny tonight. Waterfall and Smith have mopped up nearly everything thats gotten through. Orsi is getting plenty of touches, holding up the ball well and unlucky not to have made it 2-0

I have no doubt that his overall pass rate will be good, as most of his passes after 4 that he hit straight to a Crewe player were 5-10 yard passes to unmarked teammates.

Out of contract in the summer. Mates with Glennon. 14 goals this season, 5 assists. Fast, physical wide forward. The kind of signing I’d really like to see us make.

Though not everything came off Town trying to keep the tempo up and move the ball with a bit of pace & fluidly, enjoyed that half, goal was decent too.

Crewe very poor I thought. Town not having to work too hard for the lead. A couple of chances for Crewe, a decent chance that was put into the side netting and a one on one with Waterfall ending with their attacker losing the ball. Not much atmosphere here to be honest, I think people are wanting this long feeling season to come to an end! Anyhow were winning, Khouri perhaps best player this half

Lol, you are a joke. I very rarely comment on the match thread unless something really obvious stands out to me. I agree, it was an excellent free kick, but straight after that he his next 4 passes went straight to Crewe players. Even Matt Dean and Crofty commented on Hunts inconsistency.

Indeed you are but you embarrass yourself on a regular basis by responding to everything you don’t agree on with an attack, name calling and trying to belittle others. You could have an argument in an empty room, but you don’t need to as you have them on here on a daily basis.

Some nice short little 50 yard pin point cross field passes from Hunt this half. Clearly just padding his stat completion percentage with them.

I’ve liked Khouri every time I’ve seen him play, which isn’t always the case with young players. He’ll have a decent career I reckon. Be interesting to see how young Braithwaite gets on.

Still higher than the average attendance during our last proper season at this level.
And more home fans than Donny had against us and who knows how many other declared “attendances” seeing as it seems we are in a minority in publishing the actual bums on seats as opposed to tickets sold.

Indeed you are but you embarrass yourself on a regular basis by responding to everything you don’t agree on with an attack, name calling and trying to belittle others.
You could have an argument in an empty room, but you don’t need to as you have them on here on a daily basis.
That's your opinion and you're welcome to it.

Far more entertaining second half with both teams having a go and attacking more purposefully. Really pleased for Orsi who worked tirelessly and deserved his goal whilst Khouri had a great game. Mom - Khouri.

One of the more enjoyable games I've seen. Helps when we try to get it down and play which all our midfielders did. Yes it didn't always come off but it was enjoyable to see. Could have been alot more. Khouri motm for me. I will give Khan a mention, usually a critic of him. His 1st touch was brilliant today

To be fair that was ok, lads had a go and it was good to see that we didn’t just play it into a hold up man all the time.
Khouri, Glennon and Smith all young lads that had good games. In fact I don’t think anyone had a bad game. Pleased Orsi get a well deserved goal and we saw tonight a bit more of the player Hunt will be next season. Once again Hurst puts a young lad in Braithwate on with a game at 1 - 0 which shows good trust.
Stevenage Saturday, what did Keegan say? “I would love it”…..

Makes a big difference to our play when we keep the ball down and pass to feet, opened up the Crewe defence much easier than if we had just played head tennis in the middle of the pitch. Encouraging signs for next season. UTM

| Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 ) |

Good win, Khouri, Clifton decent games, worked really hard. No one played badly. Has Orsi got as many goals as Taylor in about a third of the game and probably more touches and succesful passes, he seems to know where the net is. Still want to see Orsi and George start together.

That 11 tonight would realistically only need 2-3 v Good additions (at the most - in my opinion) to become a side that'll be in and around the play offs. Especially if we play to our strengths like they did tonight.

They've been a bit of a bogey team in the past...they won at BP 3-2 in 71/72 championship even though they were bottom. They were bottom of the table when they beat us 1-0 near the end of the second Buckley promotion season - nearly fecked it up for us, we wouldn't have had to beat Exeter in the final game but for that.

Most of them short no risk passes to teammates, And no, I won't give it a rest, I am allowed to post my opinions on here the same as you are.
Obviously a professional football manager knows better than you, that's why he signed him on a three year contract and plays him.

Didn't they spank us 4-0 at BP in the not too distant past? Have to say that Crewe were just about the perfect opponent and didn't really get in our faces, forcing us to hit hurried long passes. I reckon PH knew they would be the right team to try some of the more fringe players against and he wasn't too worried about having much height in the side, enabling us to play Khouri, Hunt and Khan together. Not sure that side would have done as well against a Harrogate or Colchester type team, but when we come up against a side that want to play footy, we are a decent outfit.

Once again, he never really got into the game, but we were in save what we have mode by then, and weren't really pushing forward too hard. I'd like to see a bit more of him now we have nothing much to play for, but I suspect Hurst wants to keep pushing for points and get us our highest finish since 2006, which probably means he won't get a start or any significant minutes on the pitch.

An 8-1 margin against two teams from leagues above that could both be promoted kind of backs that up.

Don't understand this post. I said he was giving the ball away too much, which he was at that time, not that he's a poor player, or that he shouldn't be in the team. Please stay with the narrative instead of trying to look clever. He had a much better second half, and made some great Crossfield passes, but as many people have said, who are far more knowledgeable than me, he is inconsistent, but there again, he is a League Two player.
