Anyone else have problems after staying, drinking or eating there after the game in October?
Actually thought it was the curry but weeks later after hearing rumours and finding out it had closed realised more to it.
Been in argument with their head office and today got a stock letter fob off.
I'm digging my heels in for a room refund after being basically poisoned.

If the numbers of people on here and social media, who reported sickness after their visit, are correct, I’d be asking for more than a room refund.

Fill your boots and don’t hold back.

Tell them you have stool samples from October and will be posting them to each of the above unless they provide an apology and compensation.

You're just not used to all the nuclear waste in the area, the locals are inured to it.

On a serious not though, it would definitely be worth getting one letter together with all the details of every poisoned fan (if possible) and submitting it to them that way.  Hard to fob off 50 people on one form.

Wetherspoons.....hardly synonymous with customer care or even staff care for that matter.
They know people will still go there whatever they dish up because its cheap food and drink.

Just look at every away day thread on here and "are we meeting at spoons" comes up in the first few posts every time.

Martin is a girl private. I’d rather go without an ale than feed him my cash.

I’d imagine there are other avenues to explore to get more joy, not sure you’d want a free meal or a night in one of his gaffes though…

I compiled the data in support with the Mariners Trust of how many people actually fell ill & was in contact with Public Health England. We was well into the 50s by the time we finished.

The difficult came when providing a samples of any s/d because naturally no-one did any chasing over the first couple of days as we couldn’t bloody move!

The pub was closed for a few days for deep cleaning.

They fobbed it off as air-bound Norovirus but I firmly believe it was slightly more sinister than that.

Sleep well Icey, Matty and Richard. Keep each other company up there xx

did you seek medical attention?
did you speak to the premises to tell them of your sickness? (they have to then contact the EHO)
did you keep a log (no pun intended) or timeline of sickness?
did you inform the local environmental health dept?

if you were solely effected then it would, i would guess be hard to prove. but, seeing as there seems to be quite a few that were effected, then maybe speak to each other.

if you need any help, pm me and i'll try to guide you as best i can but I've been out of food operations for a few years

when they said it was "norovirus" did they confirm this with documentation or were they just taking a wild guess in order to fob you off? if they gave you documentation, then which affiliate or dept gave the final result and took swabs etc & was anyone contacted that had any of the symptoms
