I was talking to a Scottish pal of mine who often joins me at Grimsby games.
He reminded me that a player called Harry Haddock was a defender who used to play for Clyde FC between 1949 and 1963. Played for Scotland and played against Stanley Matthews, with whom he became great friends.

Anyone interested can look him up on http://www.Clydefc.co.uk/club/history/hall-of-fame/Harry-haddock

Anyone with contacts at the club or telegraph might want to mention it to them…..

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”
