Not that weird - probably now healthy & needs games to get match-fit. Which PH can't give him here (I'm guessing).

Hurst on Croppers loan deal...
“Jordan has gone out on loan to Barnet for a month to get some games. Obviously, he has been out for a while with his hamstring and I think it’s really important for him to get some games in.
Then we’ll reassess at the end of that month. Obviously Barnet and Jordan will come into that equation as well but we wish him well and hopefully he stays fit to get some games in.”

Clearly Barnet are going “all out Hurst” with their potential play off challenge. 😉

I think the fitness issues will mean he's not likely to be with us next season, but he did OK defensively last year in the run in when Efete was out. That throw, though. Never seen anything like it.

I think he will drift into part-time football and do well, I just don't think he is made for the rigours of full time football.

Probably last we've seen of him but thanks to his throw during the play-offs a massive reason we went up. Good luck to him.

His throw is his biggest asset but needs more to his game for L2. I don't think he'll be here next year and wish him well.

Does he though ? Rory Delap was basic but made a career from it at a higher level . Thought it would be pretty effective at league 2 because teams at any level struggle with the trajectory of it ,a shame we didnt see it much at all and probably wont now as its a pretty unique skill (look at Mahers attempted ones to see the difference he provided)

I suspect we'll probably see Cropper has been released from his contract followed by him signing for Barnet following the month loan. Just the feeling I got when the announcement came out.

Delap basic ? He was an international! You think the same of Platt and Keegan ?

No but I can reel off plenty of 'basic' players that have won caps for Ireland ,I mean now they have players who operate at the footballing powehouses that are Aberdeen , Dundee Utd and Bohemians - so its hardly a fair comparison is it ?

As good as anything we have at the moment apart from josh. Josh is clearly a good player but not ripping up no trees at the moment but had a long time off.

Really disappointed about this - woukd have loved to have him in reserve against Brighton. A goal down with a couple of minute to go and he comes on for any throws- massive leveller especially if not expected/trained for. amazed he wasn't kept on just for that- your telling me you'd rather have whoever as 8th or 9th choice sub, they're more likely to make a difference- balderdash!

Sort of. Delap was a Premier League player for years before anyone (Tony Pulis, obvs) realised he had a long throw! But aye, Waterfall had 3 or 4 attempts on goal just in the Forest game.

Delap made a career from his long throw? Really? He played 241 games in the Premier League for Derby, Southampton & Sunderland before we joined Stoke where Tony Pulis discovered his long throw when they were messing around I training. He made another 134 Premier League appearances for Stoke. That’s 375 PL appearances. Nearly 10 full season of games. The lad could clearly play a bit.

It's unbelievable that Delap had that in his locker for so long without telling anyone. Pulis said he told him that he was county javelin champion as a child.
It's similar to waiting 41 games for Mitch Rose to take a throw in for us.

Truthfully, it makes me wonder if some of these footballers aren't the brightest. It's the equivalent of having a belting delivery for crosses and set pieces but not bothering to mention it and watching a teammate repeatedly knocking the ball straight at the defenders' shins

Absolutely, at some point it has to come up that you've got a decent throw in your locker. It's not like they will never have thrown the ball in their life is it!
Regards Cropper, disappointed for the lad as it just seems every time he gets fit he breaks down again. I think there's a lot more to his game than just his massive throw too. Back end of last season he was really good at right-back. Ultimately he got more game time because Michee was injured but he added a bit more defensive steel at a time when we needed it down that right.
With seven subs, especially with nine in the cup, I would always have him in the squad just for that alternative option. Quite a few games this season where I wouldn't have had any objections to us just lobbing those throws into the box for the last 10-15 minutes.
