Not one for starting threads but noticed there wasn’t one specifically for Luke.

I’m sure it’s been covered elsewhere but I noticed yesterday was his 150th game for us. Some effort that and for a bloke who, let’s face it, in our relegation season would’ve been on most fans’ lists as being out the door first, his second coming has been quite remarkable.

Clearly a true professional, and to bounce back after what must’ve been horrible for him, in the way he has, score important goals and lead the back line is pretty phenomenal. He’s clearly happy playing for town, I’m sure he wont be here forever but having in the side brings a sense of calm and a ‘we’ll be alright’. A proper defender, as was shown in his three massive tackles yesterday in quick succession.

Can head a ball. Leads the team and never stops talking all game.

And, for that celebration just giving Mullin flipping dogs abuse after scoring the winner at Wrexham, whilst the 1500 of us were losing our minds, seeing that made it even better.

He never make it in to a best 11 but after the shite we’ve had served up over the last 20 years, the bloke deserves all the credit he gets.

Hurst told him he was free to find another club but he still knuckled down, wasn't even first choice for the first game and then due to circumstances, ended up playing the second game of the season and hasn't looked back since.

He's an absolute animal, which is a good thing in a lower division central defender! Makes the odd error, as with yesterday's goal, but  these mistakes are more than outweighed with his never say die defending when the ball is slung into the box and his goals.

Agreed although from my angle, his mistake was because he was trying to sort out Mather’s mistake…

Shaun Pearson and Luke  Waterfall are cut from the same cloth for me. Both battlers whenever I've seen them ( love it ).

I don't know sufficiently impressive words to describe my admiration for Luke. We're lucky to have him.

He's the back bone of the team . We need another 2 of him in different positions to be challenging at the top end .
