Lloyd and McAtee looked like they'd played together for years at Crewe. Its nice having a problem up front like this for a chamge isn't it 🤣

I think everyone's just waiting in anticipation and anxious ... fans need to get going aswell as the team but as it stands we're holding our own against a well improved team.
This ref isn't giving much is he? Aslong as it's the same for both sides I'll be happy.

JT and Crtofty need to identify the players correctly, It was Emmanuel had the last shot that went wide, not Efette.

We need to get the ball down and start playing football, we aren't going to win any headers in the air away from our defence. We are playing Colchester's game and they are bettering us at it.

Apart from some poor organisation for the goal neither side look like anything, keep the ball on the deck and we’ll be back in this.

Awful first half, everyone's probably play at a rating of 5 maybe 6 out of 10... not going to get too negative though, Colchester are in form and it's only half time. If you're in the main stand please shout to PH to NOT make any subs

We need to get the ball on the deck. This hoof ball just plays into their hands as their entire team look near 6ft+.
McAtee need to play tighter to Lloyd like he did at Crewe and stop drifting wide so much, make colchester play more narrow and give the like of Amos and Emmanuel room on the flanks to run into.
I also feel we need a change in midfield I'd say Morris off for Holohan, but I'm really not sure who it should be really, because at the moment none of them are really in the game.

Hope I'm wrong but just can't see us getting into it again. Refs letting them push and pull us around and won't give us anything. Got to get it on the ground and get some more possesion. Crowd need to get loud and support at the moment Colcester players able to just sit deep and hoof and don't look pressured v often at all. Colchester really are nothing more than a bunch of big cloggers and on our game we should beat them.

Passing through midfield has been terrible and they aren't leaving us any space in the middle. I'd take off Hunt, who has been ineffective, and bring Holohan on to try and win a bit more aerial ball in the middle.
We need Emmanuel to get involved more as he looks useful on the occasions he wins the ball. Not sure it's the right game for Lloyd as their defence are all massive and are being allowed to shove him around.

I’m not sure you can say Colchester deserve to win this game but we don’t deserve anything from it.
Ref’s been sh1t again! They’ve done a job on him too.

That’s not a positive. We want Southampton to be well in touch and with Nathan Jones still in post. I don’t think he will be by the end of the weekend.

| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |

Frustrating that. We played badly but the ball didn't fall to us. Bobbles went away from our player. Seemed to roll better for them. But, Colchester did enough. Stuck to their task.

Could be very clever by Paul. Southampton looking bad - make sure we look bad - plenty of games to make sure we stay up. Southampton under the most pressure for the 5th Round tie. UTM

They were well organised and that's all they needed to be to defend a poor goal. We were well off it, especially going forward. I'd have changed to a back 4, wing backs were getting nothing. Disappointing,.especially in contrast to Tuesday, but as Hagrid said on most other days that's a terrible 0-0 and we move on

Interesting what I read a few years back in a sports science article. It's hard for a lot of athletes to maintain 100% or very close to that week in week out . If an athlete can get to 80% minimum then higher levels of performance can be maintained consistently week in week out over a longer duration?.

We always struggle at home against teams that set up to hassle and press us on the ball so we have no time and resort to hoof ball. Don’t see 5 at the back as the answer in these situations. Very underweight in central midfield today

You must be talking about a different incident then, as what I am talking about was 100% no 7 Emmanuelle who hit the ball past the post after a goalmouth scramble. It was a close up view of the player, centre screen clearly with the player wearing the 7 shirt.

He does make some mistakes with what he says ( who doesn't ) but always is a bit of respect there from my part for the time he served in the military. What some of them lads have gone through is beyond words especially the mental and physical suffering experienced to serve for their country.

And the BBC are always right, yeah? If you can show me a highlight that clearly shows Efete missing that chance, then I will apologise. Oh and btw, JT, who works for the BBC, clearly mistook one of our black players for one of our white players during his commentary.

To be fair, Efete only had a snap shot and probably was trying at the LH post, but it went past it on the wrong side. The ball was pinging about. Our backs did well I think especially against the double wardrobe on legs that Colchester had. The midfield just didn't lace their boots onto the correct feet.

Prove me wrong then, get Hagrid to show us the highlights he saw which clearly shows who it was hit that shot.

I commented we were all disappointed. You though - every single post on here you’ve ever made - negative. You appear in tough times, and disappear when things go well. What is the point of that?

Sorry, but that proves nothing. You might interpret it as Efete hitting it past the post, I would interpret it as Efetes shot being blocked and rebounding out to Emmanuelle. That still picture isn't the answer, lets see the video before I apologise.

Perhaps it's in his nature, his personality or he likes a good moan. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that whatsoever. If you check the forum rules there is nothing to say you have to be unrelentinly positive and you can have any opinion you like. We might have a terrible end to the season and get relegated (seen it before) then it will be you with egg on your face. Just let people be.

So, just for instance, if this was a court of law and you was a juror, and that a mans life depended on it, would you be 100% certain that THAT picture proved that Efete hit it past the post?

No, you're wrong, it was Emmanuel, he was wearing no 7 shirt. It was clear as day Emmanuelle.
This is the second consecutive week you’ve spread false right-wing material on The Fishy. You’re going to get us shut down.

Who rattled your cage Mr Brexit? If it’s ok to have any opinion you like…pipe down and let mine be. I’m not shutting him down - he can continue to post his badly expressed, perpetually imbalanced, moaning tripe, and I can point at it and I can call it boring. Following your position, that’s all fine, so what’s your problem?

So a thread that starts on a football game transcends into a who dunnit argument (just needed Columbo onto it..’excuse me Sir..I was just going about my business but couldn’t help notice ..’ ) and a male private waving contest between two who’ve been at it for months and still don’t know who’s is bigger..
Not like the fishy at all.. 🤷♂️😂

He does make some mistakes with what he says ( who doesn't ) but always is a bit of respect there from my part for the time he served in the military. What some of them lads have gone through is beyond words especially the mental and physical suffering experienced to serve for their country.
Didn’t know the back story TBH, couldn’t agree more. I will also be a bit more respectful now I know the context

Please don't put Mcatee v Southampton
|
| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |

It's all the ups and downs of being a mariner . We win when we don't expect it. We lose when we think it's odds on a easy win. Forget today there is nothing we can do about it. We will win again next week just don't know whether it will be at Gillingham or Northampton. Maybe both . Maybe neither

The highs and lows of the past fortnight are ridiculous. First we are hugely disappointed by the business we did in the transfer window, then we are really impressed with some of the new signings, then we beat Luton, and now we have another home defeat against a team who were below us in the table.
Never dull supporting Town is it?

No, just you. We’re all disappointed, but you only appear at times of failure. Almost revelling in it. You don’t even attend.
That is absolute bullsh!t. Show me some threads where I have slagged off players on a regular basis
