Though it’s not that important in reality I wonder who’ll take the armband?

Can't have too many Greens!
Although Holohan may be upset that he's had his number nicked

Do we have two Greens ?

Or should one of them be Waterfall. ?

Easy mistake to make

Not that surprising really after we thrashed high flying Plymouth in the cup who's fans will be happy that blip came in the cup and not the league. Burton in comparison are struggling in L1 and under a lot of pressure right now. Cup games are very much a free hit for us as nobody is expecting us to bring the cup home. It'd be good to bypass Burton and get a financially lucrative game out of it but if we lose it's not a big deal. The team plays with much more freedom in these games because of this and takes more risks that paid off in the case of Plymouth where as Burton will be feeling the pressure from their fans.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Unsure what sort of dodgy firestick set up everyone else has but I've got the game on with English commentary under ESPN Event+ 8.

A couple more camera angles than the usual one at the top of the Findus too.

Me and my Dad have just said the same. We have removed a layer of clay from under the pitched, added better drainage and somehow the pitch has got worse.

A pretty low quality football match, this is 3-4 games this season where every single player seems to be struggling to find their man.

Burton don’t look much better, kicking towards the pontoon and still at 0-0 still gives us a great chance.

Reasonable enough first half. They pinned us back for the first 15 without creating much, other than a mishit cross which Crocombe needed to tip over. After that, much more even. They are susceptible to the ball over the top, but we've not quite got it right yet.

They are a big team so I don't think we'll see too many midfield changes as we need the height in there, especially without Waterfall available. All might change if we went behind, of course.

Firstly I'm no grass expert but common sense tells me if you rip up established grass including it's root structure and replace it with new grass and expect it to stand up to football matches and training then good luck . It took our school field over a year to be able to use it and even then it was pretty crap

Bit of a slow affair so far with some half chances on both sides. Burton look like they'd be more at home in the NFL than the EFL with some tall and wide players who look a bit rough out there. Can see how they are struggling in L1 though with plenty of physicality but nobody particularly brilliant who can get hold of the ball and make something happen. They probably get ripped apart by good footballing sides. Our pitch being the state it is probably plays into their hands though as it becomes more scrappy and players are easier to push around.

Think this is very much a winnable game if we go for it as Burton don't have that much going for them and are playing for a set piece. If we can defend those well and press them we'll win.

Really poor watch the 25 minutes I've seen. They're poor but pressing hard and we're giving the ball away constantly.

Lets face it, Burton Albion are pathetic, yet they are still better than us !

What do these guys do all week ? Beyond the half-way line we are totally clueless. Signing a striker of the highest quality would not solve this teams problems, no creativity, hoof-ball at every opportunity and gifting possession back to the opposition. A massive improvement is needed in the second half, time for Hurst to earn his salary.

In a nutshell, awful !

Those who can't get a stream are lucky. It is dire to watch, almost fell asleep.

We need one or two that can keep possession and someone to lead the line that can win a header or hold up the ball.

Maybe Richardson to run at them second half. We wont get anywhere in the air. They are possibly the biggest side I've ever seen.

Me and my Dad have just said the same. We have removed a layer of clay from under the pitched, added better drainage and somehow the pitch has got worse.

I saw a post the other day that said that furloughing the groundsman for a year didn't help, not sure how true that is, but if true, might have been part of the problem.

Their centre mid Oshilaja? Seems to have given 5 fouls away and hasn’t even had a talking to

Pitch is horrendous

Apparently that’s been said recently 😉

Town need more quality in the middle Green & Holohan don’t offer enough creativity.

Awful first half, Burton the better side but even they're not exactly doing much. Hopefully we come out with more bite and attack second half. Can't say anyone's done well but dare I say again McAtee for me is the weakest of the lot.

We just aren't going to be able to play quality football on a consistent basis while the pitch looks like this - definitely something that should be sorted in the summer imo

To be fair I didn't realise how bad conditions were. No excuse second half as it looks like they're in our favour regards the wind. Pitch is awful to be fair but we as amateurs play on worse week in week out

The tv close ups show it's pouring down. That said it's the same for both teams.

I don't know about the audio but the support from the Town fans is brilliant on the TV, above the Polish or whatever commentary.

Who scored
Thought it was Richardson but some say it was Harry?

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Thought it was Richardson but some say it was Harry?

Harry shot, it hit Richardson on the way through. Usually given to Richardson even though he knew nothing about it

Harry’s shot deflected in off Richardson’s left buttock. Wrong footed the keeper.

Worked on it all week in training.

I expect so - the timing of the buttock tensing is everything in a move like that...

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 )

Hilarious BBC report
Quote
'The on-loan Burnley teenager scored the only goal of the game on 76 minutes.

He exchanged passes with Harry Clifton down the right before running on to beat Burton keeper Jordan Amissah at his near left-hand post.

Richardson's deflected low shot was enough to win a tense third-round tie.'

The last goal we scored against Burton was also scored off someone’s bottom.
Chris Jones 10th October 2009
This means we have only scored goals against Burtons from Arses.

Great quiz question for the future 😂
