They play in black and white, but the similarities to town (Alex May not withstanding) end there.  less than 20 years on since they were hammered for match fixing (not hard enough IMO) they have been cooking the books allegedly now:

Plus I’m pretty sure that mid-90s side wasn’t clean either.

No wonder Conte’s hair fell out.

Italian football is bent. Read The Miracle of Castel Di Sangro. A great footy book but it exposes how rotten the game is over there.

Batch, Crombie, Moore K, Wiggington, Cumming, Waters, Bonnyman, Ford, Emson, Drinkell, Whymark. Love you all, You are the reason I'm on here. You've had help from Todd, Handyside, Futcher P, Groves, Mendonca, Macca etc etc etc. Up The Mariners!!!!!!!!!

I didn't realise until the coverage of Pele's death that Santos often play in black and white stripes too.

It is isn’t it. I was a bit drop jawed at how it ended.

Haha, I've been writing 22 instead of 23 a lot at work...I did indeed read it last year.

Yeah, bizarre really. I went into it totally blind, fully expecting a happy end to it all! Highly recommend A Season With Verona too, if you've not read that one.
