Is there something up with our medical department? We seem to be getting far more injuries than is normal this season, despite our biggish squad, it's getting stretched now. Just hope McAtee hasn't got re-injured!

The medical dept are not responsible for players getting injured, they just mend the players involved.
Injuries are part and parcel of football. If you train hard in readiness of matches injuries are inevitable.

Quite right too - why let the opposition know of any injuries etc  that may affect their tactics for the game.

According to a few ex players, a certain person in the medical team might be more responsible than you think.

I was told a while back when a friend was working within the medical department that it was out dated... I am going back 4-5 years now and I do believe they had started to get more up to date with certain machinery and the way they analysed and inputted data became more modern much to the frustration of a certain member who still enjoys using his notebook and pen

At the same time, I think Hurst said JMD and Orsi were back training and fit again, so that's 2 more bodies back.

Sadly we won't be able to throw Danilo straight back in, I'm hoping he'll get a decent run now Taylor is injured and he's the only other striker. Richardson and Simmonds aren't really strikers and there are big question marks as to whether Bim is up to it. Plus, you don't extract the most from McAtee without someone ahead of him.

dont think either of the 3 loanees have looked up to it thus far, Richardson best of a bad bunch but as you say, he has looked better when not playing as the 9

I think it’s harsh to say they haven’t looked up to it when they have been so in and out in their time here. All have showed something at some point with no consistency but I guess that’s to be expected when we have been so unsettled lineup-wise.
Richardson definitely looks best playing off the striker. Unpopular but I have seen something in Pepple too but admittedly he is very raw and he looks like he needs a goal to get him going. Simmonds I think it’s fair to say has performed best in a couple of away appearances which I can’t comment on. Unsure where his best position is.

Not sure what we’ll do tomorrow with little information of the new injuries. We know Evans will have 11 players battling for everything tomorrow though and we could do with Green in there to counter that.

I would hope:

                            Max
Cropper   Waterfall   Smith   Glennon
Kiernan     Green     Morris     Clifton
                 McAtee Richardson

Might not work up front but we don’t seem to have many options. Not even sure McAtee will be ready to start yet either. Time to give Cropper a turn at full back for me. Efete is capable of more than he’s showing right now. His confidence is shot to pieces.

I think McAtee will start, Hursty said it was a big temptation but he certainly isn't ready for 90 minutes. You might get an hour from him if you're lucky, but that's better than half an hour when we're already 2-0 down.

Prior to last week I thought Efete was beginning to return to form over the previous 3/4 games?

There's an agenda against Michee, some people just have a problem with him and the fact he's been excellent, bar last week as you say, for 4-5 weeks has gone completely unmentioned. It frustrates me how every year we must have a scapegoat where some fans think if he simply wasn't picked all our failings would be cleared. It has been Waterfall in the relegation season, it was Monkhouse, it's been Lenny and Aswad Thomas at certain points. This year it's Michee, very unfair and unjustified. I half think he's one of the injuries, he has shown to be a bit fragile. Think his absence will show some people how much he provides.

I’m not an Efete basher, quite the opposite. You are both right that he had picked up a bit in his last few games and he hadn’t even been that bad to begin with, but he does seem to have lost a bit of confidence (hardly surprising with some of the abuse coming from the stands) and showed last season he’s capable of better. Football is a squad game - Cropper has always been steady for us and has the throw-in. Wouldn’t hurt to bring Mich out of the spotlight for a little bit is all I’m saying.

When Efete goes at the defence and hits early crosses,  he is dangerous.

Often he slows and then has to backtrack and pass backwards.

What I have seen is not just from him - hesitation looking for the next pass, or not seeing where a player is running for the next pass.

This is how Donny beat us - always knew where their players were running, quick ball control and awareness of where the forwards were running our defence out of position.

Stevenage will be a hard physical side on form on Saturday.

I don’t get the Efete bashing either, we’ve conceded far more goals down the left than the right. It seems opposition manager have noticed this also and have been deliberately targeting Glennon.

Efete needs to do week in and week out what he did against Plymouth. His cross for Kiernan (5th goal) was superb. The issue is getting him confident and in the mind set that whoever he plays against he is a very capable league 2 full/wing back

McAtee will start.  It's just a question of what's around him.

Richardson, Simmonds and Orsi all look to be the type who, like McAtee, are best when they have someone to work off.  The only one who has the physical attributes to take some of the physical brunt as the lone striker is probably Pepple, but I get a more distinct impression that Hurst doesn't trust him.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if we go to the exact same line-up as we opened the season against Orient with.  McAtee as the lone striker with a packed midfield of Kiernan and Clifton wide with Green, Morris and Holohan central.  Support, I suppose, coming from Holohan.

A Steve Evans side are always going to be big and strong so it's important we get our more physical players involved to compete.

If Michee plays like he did against Plymouth week in week out, he'd be playing a higher level than League Two. Why set the consistent standard of play bar so high for him and no one else? He's a good player who has dragged himself out of a bad patch and hasn't deserved the level of scrutiny which hasn't been shone on others who have clearly struggled at times..

Some people just seem to need a player to pick on. A scapegoat. Someone who is analysed more critically than others. Even in really good teams we’ve had. Never really understood it, but I guess it tells you something about those people. In my many years supporting Town I can think of scores and scores of ‘scapegoated’ players. Sad really.

Had scouts from Grimsby at the Darlo game wanting to take a closer look at both Mark Beck (leagues top scorer) and our Middlesbrough loanee Daniel Dodds.

I’d be a bit surprised about Beck to be honest. Seen him play for Harrogate a few times and he’s a big unit and good in the air but he’s not league quality in my view. Probably not even conference.

Was talking to Joe Hutchinson who’s a scout for you’s and he said he was interested in looking at them both.

Probably more Dodds as he’s 21, and a class RB. Way too good for our level. Would be a decent level for him if he come to you after our loan spell.
