The GDPR thing is weird, as is this obsession with forcing people to stand in certain sections. There’s nothing legal about away fans can only go in one section, with or without whatever made up intelligence clubs and the police claim to have.

How clubs get away with sharing information is beyond me and probably highlights another issue that seemingly only affects football fans. I’m well aware some busy girl private will come here and say ‘if people behaved they wouldn’t need to do it’ but that’s not a justification for doing it, the law and the rules are the same. I’d imagine they argue there’s some loophole which means when you sign up you agree to your information being shared with ‘partners’ or whatever balderdash they claim.

It’s all very odd, and nothing seems to get done about it…out of interest, what is Harrogate average gate? I know clubs don’t want to be over run with away fans but in their case you’d think 2000 of us, all spending £20 would be gladly accepted and eliminates this potential of people trying to trick a system…

Less than 2,000; 1,823 currently. Ground holds just over 4,000. They could easily open up another stand to away fans as clubs in non-league occasionally did (Alfreton springs to mind), but it’s their prerogative I suppose.

One way or another the home ends will be busier on Boxing Day, I am sure.

If anyone has any spares for the Hartlepool game can you let me know. Based in the North East so can meet at the ground. Last time I went was the 8-1 and need to get it out my system

Yep, it’s my closest away day too and a decent opportunity for a few beers in Harrogate town centre beforehand.

I’m prepared to go in the home end if necessary, but even that will be tricky. Signing up to their ticket system and even purchasing tickets for another game is an option, but when a load of Bradford fans tried that they were all cancelled after Bradford shared their ticket database with Harrogate. Not sure how they get round GDPR, but hey ho.

My back up plan is to do just that but using the details of a non-Town supporting mate who lives in Harrogate. By hook or by crook I plan on being at that game.

My closest game too, I live in Otley. I also have a plan B with a non registered family member if I don’t get a ticket. I remember the BD fixture with Guiesley, I was so excited and it got rained off! That was even closer to me…..

Equally, there’s been pretty much most games this season where getting a ticket hasn’t been an issue, even for the likes of Stockport and Salford.

Had a giggle to myself when watching the EFL highlights last night......"Stockport sold out the away end .......at Salford"  Well done County on that terrific away support...🤣

Often makes you wonder if these idiots ‘commentating’ really think about what they say…you be more shocked if Stockport didn’t sell their allocation at Salford, anywhere to some extent…

I’m wondering how I’m going to get 2 tickets for Saturday. Am gonna need to ask Hartlepool if home fans/neutrals can pay on the day.

Harrogate game is going to be tricky. The away section is absolutely tiny and the 600 who get tickets from the 3K that might want one will be absolutely crammed in there.

Seen a couple of pictures from the away end yesterday. Absolutely disgusting view if you take a big following. Poor bloke who took the picture could only see half the pitch

A Hartlepool fan on TFF posted this...

You have to jump through hoops to get in, people who live in the town have a hard enough task getting in, it’s a cashless stadium, you need a ticket for entry, you need to be registered on the system in order to get a ticket, it’s one ticket per registered person, so if there’s multiple people they all need to be registered individually, if you turn up on a match day the queues are out the door and down the street, total farce.

Not looking good then. Probably half the home sections of the stadium empty. Potential substantial revenue uncollected. Nuts. No wonder they’re going nowhere.
