Surprised that we’ve not stuck with the back 5, there doesn’t appear to be a great deal of pace in this line up whatsoever but with Khan & JMD we have players capable of making stuff happen.

Shame that Richardson appears to be injured.

Not the side I would put out but
In Hurst we trust.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Efete NEEDS a big game today.

I’m assuming Richardson has a knock as surprised not to see him make the squad.

Interesting to see how Khan JMD Kiernan line up and how they get on. Definitely a lot of creativity in this team and Clifton in the middle.

Come on Town.

Quite like the look of that. Kiernan used to play through the middle for Walsall didn't he?

At the minute I count about 19 Crawley fans in the away end

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I can only assume the lino wasn't sure if the assist came off a Town player or not. Ref must have told him it didn't. Correct decision if so.

Despite the goal it was a terrible half and we are so lucky to be winning. There is literally nothing about this selection is working. JMD not in the game and Efete looks shot of confidence. The lack of genuine pace is alarming. Decent options on the bench for us the change it.

1-0 up at half time and very lucky. Hurst needs to give them a roasting for that performance.

Another Paul Hurst masterclass in letting other teams back into games rather than pressing the game and going for the second goal to kill this game off.

Stood there with his arms folded doing nothing.

These home games are not an accident, we set up with no desire to attack teams. It works away, but you can’t keep using it at home, especially when you’ve got a record number of ST holders.

These home games are not an accident, we set up with no desire to attack teams. It works away, but you can’t keep using it at home, especially when you’ve got a record number of ST holders.

Ask me at full time.

The point will still stand regardless, we’ve got away with it this half but if we continue to do this every week the home forms going to be on its bottom and people will go back to staying at home.

Weird game this.  Quality first goal, Crawley's offside goal.  We've been rubbish to the man and Holohan scores a goal that the keeper should have saved at that angle. I'll take the three points.

An uncomfortable win for us today. Monkey off the back though and as the old adage says " we will play better and lose". Cant think of a MOM so won't. On to Stockport where I guess we will play a whole lot better.

Time wasting in the corner when you're 3-0 up and earning yourself a yellow card in the process? That's bullshit that is.

I don’t think we’ve even got out of reverse or needed to tbh.

Crawley have a couple of good players, but lack cohesion. We play as we did in the first half against a good team and we will find ourselves losing. Liked the look of Maddison and the quality of dom Telford speaks for itself.

Hurst should buy a lottery ticket tonight, how we scored 3 goals and didn’t concede with that performance was good fortune, but 3 points and Town are on the up.

Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 )

Pleased we’ve won at last at home and a clean sheet. Not bothered about the stats, except for 3 goals for us and none for them.
Stockport won’t be an easy game, though. They won at Bradford City which is a surprise. That’ll stop Mark Hughes crowing.

Me too. If you look at the last two games - last week we played well against a high flying team and in truth should have won the game in the end. This week didn't play well but won 3-0. Nice depth to the team but I will be happy when Morris returns who I thought was getting better every game before his injury.

I won't make a just back thread as I can't really say much as I struggled to see being so far in the corner of the main stand with the sun in my eyes... From what I could see we never looked like conceding (except efetes few dodgy moments) but didn't set the world alight at all. More of a 1-0 kind of game so fair play to our lads for walking away with a 3-0 win!

1st half we played down to their level and Crawley looked like they were playing a preseason game. Apart from the offside goal I never thought Crawley would score. We scored a fantatsic freekick early on theres not much to say about it.

2nd half we improved,, lovely goals from Holohan and Taylor and Crawley again looked like they were playing a preaeason game and apart from that one moment when Crocombe made that cracking save I never thought they would score. Only disappointment in the 2nd half from me was going so negative at defending setpieces after we scores the 2nd no one high up the pitch and we struggled to clear the ball a little.

Holohan was my MoM. Glennon, Harry, Khan and Taylor also having great games as well.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: What's an IQ? - George Best

A few times he got the wrong side of his man or let a simple ball through, luckily they was awful... I never shouted or said anything I keep it to myself because I know how important it is to have confidence..
Anyway, strange game from what I could see but some good goals and a great 3 points. Only 2 behind Bradford in 6th?

To be fair to him I thought he was better than he has been recently but that's a low bar to set. Was simply mediocre, but not the only one. He did have a couple of really poor moments that I can remember though.

He had that moment were he attempted to control the ball in his own box by putting his foot on it, didnt control it properly and was being closed down by the time he ended up doing a panicked boot up the pitch. He had plenty of time whe  he got the ball but nearly ended up costing us.

He also demonstrated his abysmal crossing, just past the hour mark, time and space again and couldn't even get it simply in a useful area. That's why he is so so reluctant to cross the ball, because he's absolutely dreadful at it and he knows it. Most reluctant crosser of a ball ive seen play at full back, and will normally do anything rather than attempt it. The only cross he can do is when he is free in the box to simply drive it parallel to the goal line.

I know hursty likes him because he's useful at both ends of the pitch for set plays cos of his size and strength but I'd prefer cropper in there when he's back.

Actually agree with you. Could hear early on that the crowd jumped on him. Clearly lacking a bit of confidence at the moment and that won't help at all.

I thought Efete played really well today. Was solid defensively and linked well in attacking area. He had one hairy moment where he took too long to clear a ball but apart from that he looked good.

You probably had to be there to appreciate what a poor game and performance it was but a much needed home win, 3 points and a clean sheet so I think most of us who went enjoyed the result not so much how we played an opinion obviously shared by PH given his post match comments.
