City taking Man Utd apart, HT... City 4-0 United.
Haaland on for another hat-trick.

Absolutely mental to me that Ten Hag has gone with McTominay and Eriksen sitting deep rather than playing Casemiro who, while no longer in his prime, has been one of the best holding midfielders in the world for the last ten years. Just bizarre

I like Varane and his career speaks for its self but I can’t help think he bottled it.
City dismantling Utd, who quite frankly, have bottled it…

Honestly can’t understand how Haaland only went for £51m, what’s the story behind that?
He was scoring in every match over 3/4 seasons and at international level, then he turns up and unsurprisingly does the same at City and all the pundits are acting like it’s a major shock.

Clause in his Dortmund contract. Rumour has it there is a similar clause in his City contract for when Real come sniffing.

As much as I detest lots of things the Premier League stands for and Man U are currently bang average at that level you have to say that the City display today is really good Harland, Foden stand out but the midfield behind them have been excellent too.

Somewhat weird that arguably the best striker in world football right now will be on a training camp somewhere firing shots at Scott Carson during the World Cup!

So, Dixie Dean scored 60 in a season (back in the days when there were rather fewer defenders on the pitch). Nobody will ever get close to that total, everyone has always said. The way Haaland has started makes me wonder. If he can stay fit, he'll be getting two or three good chances every game and he's not missing many at the moment.

If he stays fit and doesn't get at least 50, I'll be amazed. 14 goals in 8 appearances is, erm, quite good. Obviously, they won't be playing excrement teams like Manyoo every week, but still...

Quickest player to get to three Prem hattricks, but only just managed that with a mere forty matches to spare. Echo the sentiments above that despite not being on board with what the Prem stands for and how it's funded, you can't deny that this City team is something else. They'll win this league at a canter and go on to remembered as the best of the best (since football was invented in 1992) in my opinion.

Seeing Foden, Grealish and Haaland operating like poetry in motion makes it even more disappointing that he's opted for Norway. Would love to see how Southgate would manage to shoe-horn Sterling, Kane and Mount into the team with that selection headache too.

Manchester City's football in the first half of that game was absolutely mind blowing. Just about the best 45 minutes from one team that I've ever seen, and I've been watching football for 50 years! The precision of the passing and the quality of the finishing were just unreal!

Yet they still can't even win a big boy champions league trophy. Fairly embarrassing considering their expenditure.

The 49 goals Clive Allen scored in a season is under threat definitely.

It was yes. The record for prem goals in a season is 34, but that was in a 42-game season. The record for a 38-game season is 32. Those records already look to be in jeopardy form Haaland. He's almost halfway there already.

Scored as many hat tricks in the premier league as ronaldo…he’s only played 8 flipping games.
I know it’s cool to bash the premier league and all that jazz but if you put aside that for a moment and just look at City for what the players are, a team, it’s phenomenal really and Haaland makes scoring goals look like the easiest thing on thr earth. As a football fan it’s impossible to not recognise his obscene talent.

They’re frighteningly good. It made me think back to the dismantling a second string Chelsea inflicted on us under Jolley three years ago; the gulf in speed of thought and feet was just unreal. If they can put six past Manchester United at a canter, what would a full strength Citeh do to a League Two team like Town if they decided to go full throttle for 90 minutes? It’s not a scenario that would materialise, but double figures would surely be a certainty, wouldn’t it?

I think it probably would be double figures. I’m not even sure the league 2 side would have to play badly (I still think we were abject against Chelsea, although the bloke slagging off a World Cup winner was comedy gold) but they’d just cut through you like a knife through butter. As I say, I know it’s the cool thing to do in terms of bashing the top flight but those blokes aren’t excrement, they didn’t make the league and it’s hyperbole machine that way, they just play football and they’re obscenely good at it.

Our game at Chelsea mentioned above. It was a second-string Chelsea team, but still very high quality.
Reece James made his first-team debut. And an England regular now.
Billy Gilmour was MOM for Scotland against England at Wembley (although has not done much else).
Guehi was sold for £18 million to Palace and has played for England. Also making his first-team debut?
Barkley played for England.
Hudson-Odoi came on as sub and has played for England.
Pulisic has played in key games for Chelsea.
Alonso was a key player for Chelsea
Zouma played 100 first team game for Chelsea
Batshuayi scored 25 goals for Chelsea
(They must have been very worried about us as also on the bench were Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Tomori. All 3 could feature for England in the World Cup).

The reason Chelsea had that many big name players in the squad the night they played us was that they had had a poor start to the season (for them) and Lampard was under pressure.
He simply couldn't afford to mess up against us.

Another 2 for Haaland tonight, but Pep has subbed him at half time, so no hat trick again but I have no doubt he'd have got another had he stayed on for the second half.
He's just incredible.
