Quoted from Northbank Mariner
Amos's positioning has been absolutely woeful and Mendez-Lainge is having a field day with him.

Noticed in his last 3 games that when he lets our CB go out to the winger he doesn't cut off the square pass inside

Is our record in this version of the competition something like drawn 1, won 1 , lost 6000?
Not even sure we have won 1 in all honesty, that was more grasping at straws.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

1 the Derby squad is a class above us in every position (especially Mendes-Laing), you can see it from their movement on and off the ball, how they pass it and the way they close us down.

Giving youngsters like 30yo Mendes-Laing game time is what this competition is all about

Hull losing 3-0 (HT) at QPR so it's not all bad tonight.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

There's a mix of things of note after that first 45 that are hurting us in this game.
1 the Derby squad is a class above us in every position (especially Mendes-Laing), you can see it from their movement on and off the ball, how they pass it and the way they close us down.
2 no support up top again Pepple has been isolated a few times now and it's not just him it's the same most of the time when we get the ball forward.
3 Our passes are very sloppy tonight always a yard short or over-hit.

But as most have said, it is a good run out for those who don't often get a game and that's all that matters in this competition.

Yeh but we wanna go as far as we can in this competition Hurst pre-match interview

I think the Man City game could be a long evening if the likes of McAtee’s brother is anything to go by 🤦‍♂️
