I know how we all feel about the Papa Smurf Trophy but at least it's a chance to give minutes to some of the fringe players and try and get some confidence in the forwards. Baring in mind I'm not sure who is fit etc, I'm going for

Battersby

Effete
Pearson
Bramwell
Amos

JMD
Braithwaite
Green
Khouri

Pepple
Orsi

If Cropper and Goudry are fit then maybe they'll feature. I'm thinking with Green going off at half time on Saturday he'll get a start.

But Forest can change all 11 players in the League Cup? What’s the difference other than there isn’t a pathetic concerted effort to try and legitimise the League Cup because it’s a serious enough competition in its own right.

I think Orsi, JMD, Pearson, Battersby and Khouri are nailed on the start tomorrow so the issue is self resolving but that doesn’t answer the basic question.

It doesn't, not anymore at least. It is only 4 and there is more flexibility nowadays.

‘Full Available Strength’ means the EFL Club must include at least four Qualifying Players in the ten outfield Players named in the starting eleven on the Team Sheet.

7.4  Qualifying Player means any Player who:

7.4.1  had started the immediately preceding First Team Fixture (as defined below);

7.4.2  subsequently starts the immediately following First Team Fixture;

7.4.3  is in the list of ten Players at the Club with the highest number of starting appearances in First Team Fixtures in the same Season;

7.4.4  has made forty or more starting appearances in First Team Fixtures or international equivalents (and not limited to the same Club or Season); or

7.4.5  is on standard loan from a Premier League Club or any EFL Club operating a Category One Academy.

I seem to recall Hurst saying a while ago that he likes cup football and will always select his strongest sides. 7.00 pm will tell us the answer. ( or 6.00 pm when the teams should be announced).


You can please some of the forumites some of the time but not all the forumites all of the time

Sorry, I worded that like I didn't think he was any good. I meant it more to the fact he's been out injured and is only just coming back.
